Twilight Tuesday

I woke up at five and got up not too long after. I left a little bit later than I'd have liked, but happened to catch a gap to get onto the old road.

At work it was good to be back to normal - with me arriving early, giving me time to prepare for the daily morning meeting. Due to the weather, most of my staff, however, were late today!

What made me wonder whether I've entered a twilight zone was the attitude of some of the senior management today - where I used to get shouted down, today I was treated almost with kid gloves!?! I have no idea what's going on or where this is coming from ... I don't know whether to enjoy the calm or fear some approaching storm?

Sure, I had a quick chat with my boss about some of the issues - but nothing we discussed explains this total change!

I also asked, whether I could 'borrow' our driver with the bakkie to go get the pots and soil, I'd load what would fit into my boot and load the rest tomorrow - and I was not only given permission, but was offered that we could take it directly to my place! Cor blimey! What happened to the real world?

Today is also my 15th sobriety anniversary - I'm writing some reflections on that in a separate post ... I started this morning, but I'm out of time, so I'm not sure when I'll finish that.

Back at home the Broad Beans are poking their heads out today! Mippies enjoyed their time outside - although they didn't go for an extended explore, they stayed close to home. And when I mentioned 'Indoors' all three came inside before I could even mention the 'm' word!

The cold and wet seems to be bothering poor Mew-Mew, though. He's been holding his left paw in the air, which tears at my heart! He's not limping, though. They also seem to have come across something which worried them somewhat, just outside the gate on the open space there. It was already quite dark, so I couldn't see anything, but there was some hissing and spitting and Ziva got up and took a look - though from a distance. All three mippies are back and they seem fine. I fear the day they encounter a snake! The trouble is that they'll probably go for it, attack the snake - but they are not immune to snake-poison!

Sigh, I got a bit busy, so it's gotten quite late ... it's already nine o'clock! I hope I won't wake late again tomorrow ...
