Not a good start, as I turned over when the alarm went off ... and woke up again at six! I simply couldn't get to sleep last night, the mosquitoes were buzzing like crazy. I went so far as to huddle under the duvet, with only the tips of my ears sticking out - so, of course, that's where they feasted!
Mippies came for cuddles, seeing as I was awake. Mewthos took a stroll across me, then flopped down into my arms, knocking the duvet off me and purring up a storm! When he had his required dose, Lady Jane came and flopped down on her back, paws in the air wanting her tummy tickled! Ziva sat next to the fan for some reason - I had to get up and scratch her ears for a while as well.
It was past midnight before I finally fell asleep.
As I was late, I decided to take the toll road. Some taxi decided to stand at the booth until the queue went all the way across the bridge ... I was just in time. My mind is a little foggy and I'm making stupid mistakes. By eight I realised why I'm in such a fuzz - apparently my body has decided that since I'm working like a mother... I might as well stay in the mother-possibility range. After several months absence last year, I'm now getting monthlies every month again. Sigh.
With all that today, the garden pots will have to wait at least until tomorrow - no problem.
At twenty to nine I get an e-mail: 9 o'clock meeting cancelled. At twenty five past eleven I get a phone call: the 9 o'clock meeting is in five minutes! Sadly, that's how we roll ...
I left work a few minutes early. As I was driving home, it started to rain, stronger and stronger until I was going no more than 60 km/h with the wipers going at top speed - on the highway! I decided to pay the tolls rather than risk the Kamikaze drivers on the old road in this weather. By the time I got home, it wasn't raining quite as hard and I managed to get to the front door tolerably wet. I have to open two gates before I get to my front door - which has a third gate outside.
Even though it was raining, I decided to check on my plants and discovered to my delight, that two more types are coming up: Eggplant and one type of Parsley! Everything else is still going strong, getting bigger and bigger! Nothing seems to be unhappy, everything is just pushing to reach the sky!
Mippies are not happy about 'no outies today'! Poor darlings! They made it very clear that, if they are stuck indoors, then treat time is NOW! Ha Ha Ha! Fine with me! I showered and then took the laundry off the hangers so I could fold those up and clear some room in the bathroom. And then I had my dinner. With Mippies looking hopeful! I obliged! I've gotten into the habit of sharing everything I eat with my mippies. Every time I have a cup of coffee, Ziva mips for her share of the milk! One could say I'm spoiling them rotten - but when you consider how little time we get to be together, compared to how inseparable we were not so long ago - then the 'spoiling rotten' goes into perspective as 'reassurance'. If I was still at home all day, every day, they wouldn't need their share of everything I eat or drink to reassure them! So the deprived of time with me is balanced with excessive attention - cramming a day's worth into a few minutes.
Mewthos wouldn't stop crying, though, so I sat down on the bathroom mat and played with my mippies! He's finally quiet, but now Ziva and Janey are mipping for attention! Mewthos threw himself so enthusiastically into the play-time, both ladies stalked off in disgust! And when I say 'threw', I'm being quite literal! He jumps and skids around in that bathroom like a kid in a jumping castle! Only, this kid has claws! Ha Ha! He's very careful not to get them too near me, though.
I've packed lunch, folded and packed away the laundry, scooped the litter box ... three times, already - and I can hear Ziva taking her turn only now! Sigh. I've emptied, washed and re-filled the widdle box, given them additional Whiskas treat, picked up and cuddled, stretched and tummy tickled, stretched and scratched ears ... and then started the whole cycle again!
Funny thing, all three of them are now eating the meat from the Whiskas Sachets as well!?! In PE they used to just lick the gravy or jelly and leave the meat, I usually ended up having to throw it away the next day, when it had dried up. But now? They eat it all! It's the same flavours! Even the same batch - I did have a few boxes packed, which they ate completely, as well! Cats are weird! Ha Ha!
Sjoe, it's already eight o'clock ... I have some sleep to catch up on! Wouldn't want to get another late start tomorrow!
