Back to the madness

The power came back on about half past eight, so I got up, switched on the PC so I could listen to my Audiobook and started packing the bread into the freezer.

I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, so I grabbed Mewthos - but he struggled free and continued his trampoline act. I showered, got dressed, made my lunch for today and left rather on the late side. I took the Highway, but the toll gates are such a queue, I still got to work late - although just by a few minutes.

Work was hectic. I feel like a hamster in a treadmill, working hard just to avoid falling behind. It's somewhat frustrating. Nuff said.

I did, however, make time to order cat food as well as a scratching toy for them. I also asked about the cat litter - unfortunately they can't help me, but they gave me a contact number  for the manufacturer, I might be able to find out more from them.

Cor, it's almost eight and this is the first chance for me to sit down at my PC! It's been a hyper active evening. Traffic was bad, so I only got home about quarter to six. Opened up for zoom, zoom, zooming mippies. First I watered my garden - just sprayed a bit to wet them, none of them are at risk of drying out, and then went through to my landlady's to let her little one go for her evening widdle. I forgot to ask where the light switches are, ha ha! It's already quite dark, since it's overcast today - no big deal, though, they're on the wall, so there's only so many places they can be.

The little doggie, Luna, is sulking. She acts as if I'm an enemy, cringing away from me - but when I open the door, Lady comes in quite happily and runs through to the bedroom. I sit by Luna, stroke her a bit and talk to her, then step aside so she can go outside. I check their food an water - both fine, switch on the outside light, and when Luna is back, I lock up again. All this time Mewthos sat behind the door mewling pitifully!

So I sat outside with my mippies for a while, but I still had to re-pack and freeze the meat, so I went inside quite early. Mippies followed. I gave them the second half of the Petleys lamb tin - sigh, they still won't eat it. They'll eat it on the day I open the tin, but never on the second day. That hasn't changed, I'm afraid.

Mewthos had twirlied my jersey onto the bed during the day. Ai, ai! I re-packed as much as I could, of the meat - I'm afraid, the Speckwurst didn't make it, it'll have to be tomorrow's dinner. I also don't have space for the Steak - but it's lazy aged and vacuum packed, so it's fine for another ten days. By then I'll have room in the freezer, and I'll have eaten some of it.

For tonight's dinner I fried a kebab and finished the Matjies Salad. Since I showered this morning, I don't have to shower again tonight. When I sat on the toilet, Mewthos - for some strange reason - suddenly thought that my toilet bin is a treasure cave! He toppled it over, stuck his head through the lid - got his head stuck in it, of course - and then crawled into the bin as far as he could! I have no clue what got into him - but as he was so excited, Janey and Ziva also had to come and have a look! It was quite entertaining!

To make up for the failed treat, I gave them an extra helping of Whiskas kibbles - they're all nuts about them. They eat mostly the Fit 32, hardly ever the Indoor cat food. I'm still using the bag I brought with from PE, whereas I'm already on the 2nd bag of Fit 32.

And then I remembered that I had forgotten to put up the gate for the doggies - my landlady has a mobile gate she asked me to put outside the bedroom door to keep her doggies in the bedroom. So off I went, picked up Luna - who was still sulking on the couch - and carried her through. Lady was already in her bed. Well, it's not much to be done while they're away - at least I don't have to try and coax their dogs to eat, like poor Rose has to, when she feeds the dogs!

Everything is done, lunch is packed, and it's now twenty to nine ...
