Still showering with PPE

I went to bed somewhat later than usual, just after nine - I had some trouble falling asleep, but nothing major - and I woke up to the alarm at quarter past five. I'm happy to report that my body appears to be adjusting to this new routine and I have a little more time with my mippies in the evenings.

They've been busy during the night, though. I've had to pick up my laundry basin and pegs this morning. I'm also having some weird dreams about them, like last night we all lived at the house, where my mum last lived, yet the two ladies wouldn't come inside the property and stayed on the opposite side of the busy road while I feared they would get run over at any moment! Not the best of dreams - but I'm having this kind of dream most mornings, lately.

At work, I started the day by taking photos of the sunrise - not the most idyllic setting, but such is life. I enjoy these odd moments of beauty in the midst of the chaos. Like I enjoy watching the butterflies out back, when I'm taking a smoke break. One of the guys has finally cut the grass - which was another major task, as it had grown to over a meter, some even taller! And there was a lot of junk amidst the grass, so he had to use a high-powered weed eater and worked in full safety gear! He'll let me know what kind of seeds he'd like, then we can get some beauty going out the back. The staff enjoy sitting there for their lunch, since it's the only area getting any shade throughout most of the day.

I took some of my technical books to work today, I picked the ones with Material Handling and Warehousing information, since that's my key area at the moment. Or should I say, I'm currently on the Augean Stables task of Hercules, ha ha!

It's quite daunting to get actual management going here, every time when I think I'm making progress, I see something little and as I take a closer look, I discover a whole new major clean-up requirement! It feels like I'm taking one step forward, then two steps back!

At least we received some orders late yesterday, so the staff will at least have some production work to do - they've been 'housekeeping' for so long, it must be coming out of their ears by now! They've been very patient about it, though. I'm hoping, that as we improve, we will also start getting more orders - and hopefully more clients to place orders as well! But that is beyond my scope.

I've spent just about the entire day trying to learn how to create a Bill of Materials - and I think I've done all the research, so I'm ready to start tomorrow. I do wish I had more detailed information in book form, but it's not really an Industrial Engineering function ...

When I got home, I tested the shower - still shocking! So I'm showering again in my PPE (Personal Protective Equipment): flip-flops on my feet, rubber glove on one hand - otherwise in my birthday suit!

Afterwards I made myself a proper meal: some pasta into which I cut the tomatoes and I fried the two sausages and cut those up as well. It's enough for me to take to work tomorrow, as well. I suppose it's not really a proper meal, but compared to a fried piece of meat - my usual fare - it qualifies!

Mewthos had twirlied the blankie off the armchair! Ai, ai! He still mewls until he gets his treat. Sigh. And then he mewls for another.

Ziva is a pleasure to watch nowadays! I remember the look I got from her, the first time I dangled a toy mouse in front of her! And look at her now: she loves the stick-under-the-sheet game, she plays with the bathroom mat by herself, sometimes twisting herself up in it! And she quite enjoys wurmpie and his mate with the bell!

We had our play time, now I get my play time before I go to bed.
