Mippies play outside again!

Another early-ish morning, I woke a little before the alarm went off. Got up, had coffee, played the litter box game – and had a good laugh when Mewthos called me again and I saw him sitting in the smaller, red box looking at me!

Work was ... work. I was asked to take over another task – should be fine.

After work I drove out to Pretoria East, got bread and Aufschnitt – I got served by the owner, so extra good service! Then I went to the Spar a few blocks from there – rather than the Pick n Pay at the other end of that road. It was a Kwikspar, so prices were high and variety low – but that’s okay, all I really wanted was milk. I got that, some fruit juice and some tonic, which I’m now in the habit of taking to work.

On the drive home, my car smelled like a bakery! Lovely freshly baked bread smell! All in all, it wasn’t too bad – I was home by quarter past four. I opened the door to let mippies out while I carried the shopping in. I just put it all in the fride, I can sort it out tomorrow.

Then I spent the next two and a half hours sitting outside with my mippies! Well, after I showered – it’s been 35°C in the shade today, and the car was even hotter!

Every time I went inside to re-fill my juice, they followed! It was quite hot in the sun, so mostly they lay in the shade by my side, enjoying the view and occasionally rushing off to try and catch a butterfly or something. Lady Jane did manage to catch a kind of cricket, it was buzzing madly while she carried it past me, but then she tried to get a better grip on it – and it got away!

Mewthos got lost in the tall grass. He mewled for directions, then followed my voice out of the jungle! Ha Ha, at least one male who isn’t too proud to ask for directions!

I was too lazy to pack myself a lunch last night, something I regretted today at work! But once I got home, I had two Berner Würstchen (sausages). I got some lovely treats for myself, so it’s going to be a yummy weekend!

When I started watering the garden, both Mewthos and Ziva decided they’ll explore the distances! They went quite a ways, though they stayed in sight – then Mewthos came bounding back at top speed!

I’m quite enjoying the sunsets outside, the sky turns a bright orange – not so much red and not pink, like PE, but orange, which then blends into a light blue night sky. I’ll try to capture the colouring sometime this weekend.

Now it’s just gone past eight, and I’m struggling to keep my eyes open ...
