Short day

I struggled to go to sleep last night and mippies didn't help with their cuddle demands. They rotated for hours after I went to bed, it was past midnight and they were still taking turns demanding cuddles! That's now why I struggled to sleep, though.

I'm not exactly sure what kept me from sleeping - mind busy, I'd say. There have been a lot of discouraging incidents at work this week - which is pretty much standard in an unprofessional work environment. I expected this, which is one of the reasons I did not want to move into this environment. On the positive side, some concepts I've been trying to get across three years ago are now implemented. Of course, no connection to my presentation or report from three years ago - this 'new' way of thinking came from a reliable source, and I should adopt it, too ... sigh. Story of my life! If I had a penny for every time someone tried to convince me of something I've introduced them to way back when ... I wouldn't have to go to work anymore! Ha Ha, my sister alone would owe me a bucket load!

Anyway, I've been loaded with trivia - duplicate paperwork, meetings, odd tasks - none of which is taking me forward, it's just like a rocking chair: keeping me busy while getting me nowhere. On top of which, management has decided that absolutely everything must go through my store - every nut, every bolt, every sheet of toilet paper! There is clearly a major issue with stock - negligence and possibly theft - but writing everything down doesn't solve anything, unless those records produce actionable reports! Which would require time to design ... which I'm expected to do ... without missing a beat on my rocking chair!

I guess I'll have to find a way to create the effect of the rocking chair without actually being tied to it ... which is about all I want to say about the subject. I'd rather keep this blog cheery - no need to spread the depression.

Mewthos gave me quite a fright this evening! I had let them all out when I got home. I went to shower and then, after having sat outside for a while, I went to lie down - I'm still struggling to keep my eyes open. And then, when I got up, Mewthos was missing! He wouldn't come when I called ... and I called and called! He normally turns up just as I'm about to despair, but today he took it a little further ... I was getting quite worried and started looking under the bed, hoping to find him there, when 'Whoops!' he turned up with his usual sirening!

Well, they all had a lovely long afternoon outside. It's really too hot even for them to play much, until the sun sets. That's why I give them some time after sunset outside as well. Lady Jane was on an extended walk-about when I called them in for munchies - Mewthos loves it! His head swings from bowl to bowl gobbling everything in sight! When Lady Jane is there, she holds her own against his greedy chops, but Ziva just walks off in disgust so I have to prevent Mewly from bobbing his head into her bowl! They love the new bowls, by the way! I must take some photos - they were actually not very expensive, and I'm glad I chose them!

I've watered the garden, saturating the bed where I might work tomorrow. I haven't quite decided yet. Maybe I'll work in the garden - or maybe I'll unpack more boxes. I'll see what I feel like tomorrow. At sunrise it's usually pleasant and I'm usually quite energetic, too. We'll see tomorrow.

Early night tonight, hopefully I'll sleep.
