Mippies were not very happy that I went to work today - Mewly cried and I had to pick him up several times this morning ... his white fur shows up quite starkly on my black work-top! Lady Jane and Ziva sat in the kitchen window watching me open the gate to drive off ...
When I got home, Mewly continued his crying - I don't know whether something is actually wrong or whether he just feels abandoned. I picked up again and again and again. Eventually I sat down on the bathroom mat and played with my mippies - for about ten or twenty minutes. I watched Mewthos carefully: he seemed somewhat listless, not overly interested in playing - at first. Ziva is nuts about the white worm with the red bell at the end! She goes for that endlessly! Janey also showed a marked lack of interest - also only at first. When I brought out the stick - our rat-race stick - all three mippies came alive!
I think it's an emotional thing, Mewthos' constant crying - which doesn't make it any less real, though. He only shut up after they all got their evening treat - he's clearly a comfort-eater! Sigh - he needs to join Overeaters Anonymous ...
I thought I'd give us all a treat and made us an ice cream ... that didn't work out well! Mewthos refused to listen and ended up pulling the bowl off the table, shattering it on the tiles! Three mips shot out of the kitchen!
Well, that's down to 3 bowls ... I cleaned up the mess then swept the kitchen - I hope I got every last splinter! Then I made us another bowl of ice cream. Lady Jane came quite eagerly and had a share, Mewthos struggled to find an access route, but started his noisy slurp, slurp, slurp ... only Ziva hesitated to eat out of the bowl. I encouraged her and after both minis had gone, she finally came and joined me.
I hadn't taken anything out for my own supper - I could have made some pasta, but frankly, cooking in that hot kitchen (when the windows are closed) is just too much! When the windows are open, it's no problem, but as long as they are closed, it just gets too hot in there.
