Even though I rolled onto my back
again, the dream this brought about was far more pleasant! I dreamed a new
project was starting, though on a much smaller scale. Since there were fewer
people, there was no deputy site manager – so, for a laugh, the site manager
made me his deputy. It was the site manager from the first project I had worked
on – fantastic guy! His was the best site ever! Only, instead of his usual
Portuguese team, for some reason he had a Swedish team this time – which included
one of the guys from my online game fellowship ha ha ha! He actually is Swedish,
but his actual work has no place anywhere near a construction site!
The dream was then invaded by real
life in rather a funny way! I needed to wake up to go to the toilet, so in my
dream I spent more and more time on toilets which didn’t seem to relieve my
need for one! Ha Ha! This continued until I finally woke up! When I was a child,
in this exact same situation I always did manage to find relief in my dream
toilets – and then woke up in the wet bed! This led to severe reprimands, of
course and a lot of derogatory comments from my mum. I could never understand
why it was supposed to be such a shameful thing – I dreamed I was on a toilet
and my body believed that I was; so what? Where is the shame in that? Though I
am glad that my body now knows the difference!
I’m afraid it’s too hot today for
gardening. The weather really is unstable – yesterday it was too cold and today
it’s too hot. That’s a 10°C difference! From one day to the next! And
unfortunately there is hardly a breath of air moving …
The sourdough bread was wonderful
for breakfast! It’s just a pity that it’s family-sized – I’ll have to cut some
serious doorsteps to finish it off in a week! I’m trying to find the energy to
make my delicious sauce but it simply is too hot to cook.
As the day progressed without any
relief from the heat, the ambitious sauce simplified first to chop & quicky
frying, then to rather adding spices and some soy sauce to the meat! Ha Ha!
Well, it wasn’t bland, at least!
I went to visit Rose in her lovely
cool flat this afternoon – with her front and back door she has a lovely breeze
going through, keeping the entire flat tolerable. Oh, and I also solved my
bread problem: I simply cut a large chunk and gave it to Rose.
At first my visit was quiet and
without mippie antics, but as soon as I commented on that, Lady Jane came
strolling in to entertain us! And she is a five-star entertainment troupe all
by herself! Ha Ha! At one point she got onto my back – I had bent over for her
to get on – and started to settle down! Rose picked her off so I could stand up
ha ha ha!
Rose also told me that Boney M would
be playing at the Arena on the 26th December – if the wind blows
from there, we should be able to hear the entire concert right here! I looked
it up and it isn’t actually Boney M, but the lead singer performing the band’s
hits. Boney M were one of my favourite bands in my early teens!
Back upstairs I quickly fried the
pork mince with some spices and added some coconut crumbs (desiccated coconut)
to thicken the sauce; as I said: at least it wasn’t bland! For the taste buds I
will make myself another ice cream with custard.
While I’m waiting for my mippies to
come inside, Felix arrived for dinner. The cut above his eye looks better – at least
from what I can make out; it’s already getting dark and he won’t let me near
enough to see properly. He’s now rolling around in the left-over catnip on the
outside mat.
Around half eight Ziva comes mipping
in, followed by Mewthos – both are ready and eager for their evening treat.
Lady Jane is not fazed – she’s outside and staying outside. I can see her
sitting on Rose’s gate rail, looking at me – but not reacting to my calls! So,
I shut the door on her. Mewthos and Ziva enjoy their treats and start licking
their chops when we hear a miserable little mip mip mip coming from outside! Ha
Ha Ha Lady Jane has decided that NOW she is ready to come in – but the door is
closed! All’s well that ends well – but Lady Jane doesn’t get a treat! Not much
of a punishment to her, since she’s not all that keen on them anyway.
Okay, this is a first! Ziva kept
mipping at me and the usual picking up for unwanted cuddles didn’t work; so I
followed her. She led me to the bedroom and jumped onto the bed! Like she was
trying to tell me that it’s time to go to bed! Usually, I’m the one who goes –
and they ignore me; then follow a while later usually one by one. Today, Ziva
led the way, Mewthos followed and Lady Jane came right after Mewthos! Now they’re
all in bed waiting for me! Ha Ha Ha! It’s usually the other way around.
