Day 46 of 100, Saturday 8th December

Not a good night, I was up half the night with a hyper active stomach. Fortunately I still had some electrolytes unpacked, which helped a lot. I woke up at half past six, but was too tired to get up, yet. I finally got up after eight, again. That put an end to my plan to get groceries early this morning, I’m afraid.

Mewthos came twirling through my bed on several occasions, then napped a while at my feet, then twirlied again, and then napped again. This morning I found my jersey on the floor, that’s how I know he’s been busy through the night.

I also started designing a new type of vase. The purpose of a vase is to keep the stems of cut flowers in water, usually glass and often decorative either to show the stems nicely or to hide them completely. But last night I couldn’t get to the glass and got stuck on plastic – which I don’t want to use. Yeah, I know, this doesn’t make sense … yet.

I’ve, yet again, washed the dishes – I think I’ll steam some potatoes for dinner tonight. Every Mip came to help at one time while I was busy, even Ziva! Well, I say to help, but they were quite happy to leave after getting some cuddles.

Lady Jane has brought another grasshopper inside, poor thing only has one hopping leg left. She plays with it on and off. I feel bad for the hopper … don’t like to see anything suffer. For myself, I should carry on packing, especially get on with the kitchen, but I just don’t want to. I’m still on track, about half the place is packed up already. Oh, yeah there are still loads of books out – but I’ll hire someone to do a stash of those again one of these days.

I found a solution to the basket problem I had run into on one of the sites where I found the initial description. I had my potato dinner, so now I’ll give that a try.

That didn’t work out very well, as it turns out, I made the paper sticks too strong. Which is exactly the problem I had run into. And I have such a lot of them now – I’ve got the knack of making them, so it’s been going quite fast. I don’t want to have to throw them all away, now!? Hmmm … it’s the centre piece that’s really strong, the outer parts are pliable enough, so maybe I can cut them and use only the pliable part of the sticks?

Ha ha, that was a stupid idea! As soon as I cut the end off, they start unrolling – obviously! Just goes to show, I’m not quite myself, or I would have thought of that beforehand rather than find out the hard way.

I gave the mippies Royal Canin sachet as a treat today – I’m happy to see that Ziva ate every last bit! Rose said that Frankie also seems back to normal. They both understand that Abby is gone, they both heard her after her stroke, so I hope they understand that it was her time.
