As I was going to sleep there was a
loud thud in the lounge, I went to investigate but could only ascertain that
Mewthos was to blame – Lady Jane was on my bed and Ziva isn’t clumsy. This
morning I discovered that Master Mew had decided to investigate my new basket! He
managed to drop my cutting board and my water colours off the table and scatter
everything else.
I struggled, yet again, to go to
sleep – this time for lack of ideas! Silly me! I pushed myself out of bed when
I woke at half eight, I really don’t want to go backwards.
Mippies had to wait, which they did
impatiently. Our gardener is working next door today and came to get the
carnations … my poor garden is looking really bare now! When he said he needed
some sticks to tie them up, I suggested he take some of the branches.
I’ve had breakfast and now I’m again
in a flunk, no energy for anything. This is getting old really fast! I’m sick
and tired of feeling sick and tired. So I got busy, put a load in the machine,
cleaned the litter box, etc. I also cleared the mess Mewly left on my table! He
really had a good time there last night, everything is pushed about – what was
he up to?
I guess I should make an effort to
see what’s wrong with the vacuum, it’s started whistling quite alarmingly, so
I’m guessing it’s just blocked. That’s actually the main reason I haven’t
vacuumed in a while – I’m afraid it turns out to be something I can’t take care
of myself.
Ah, nothing serious, just a major
nuisance: cat hair! It blocks the pipe, so I need to blow it out regularly …
making it quite a chore to vacuum. Well, I’ve just hung up the laundry in my
bedroom, so I’ll do the job tomorrow.
Rose just came home, I showed her my
latest basket and she thought it looked quite pretty! I don’t think I should
paint it, it does look quite colourful. Maybe I’ll dab some water colours here
and there.
I chose not to add any more colour
to the basket – and it sure is a mippie-trap! THAT’s what Mewthos was doing on
the table last night! It’s on the desk next to me now, while I’m trying to make
more paper sticks – first Mew, then Lady Jane eyed it with the intention of
jumping on my desk to get at it today!
I’m so tired, I took a short nap,
but I’m still tired. I’ve watered the garden with two mippie-heads under the
can, ha ha! Plus Romeo rolling under my feet!
I gave my mippies some chicken necks
for their treat, but when I started breaking the meat off, the bones seemed
rather small, so I kept them away – don’t want my greedy chops, Mewthos, to
choke on a bone! Ziva, however, once again turned her nose up at the chicken
meat and soup!
I think it’s the heat that got me so
down today, because I’m feeling much better now, after dark, and I’ve changed
into a sleeveless top. Pretoria is going to be murder!
I’ve watched the Adrian Mole DVD’s,
they’re fine. The Sherlock Holmes ones are not so good, I had some trouble with
some of them. They start playing then stop after a minute or so. They also
re-arranged the order of the episodes, which is not logical since the first
episode – where Holmes & Watson meet – is the fifth on the DVD.
Anyway, I’ve started another basket,
a round one this time. I haven’t enough paper sticks to finish it, so I’ve been
making more with the ad papers from today. The shiny ad papers make tighter,
but shorter sticks – at least, the way I roll them. I still haven’t quite got
the hang of it, and I get to throw quite a lot of them away, half-rolled.
Different paper rolls differently, the newspaper makes longer and wider sticks,
whereas the ad paper turns out mostly evenly rolled – but you want a wider end
to insert the next stick into, to extend them.
