Day 51 of 100 Thursday 13th December

I went to bed just after nine; and woke before eight. Let the mippies out, had coffee and breakfast and then tried to type … only to find the b and the comma not working. So I cleaned the keyboard and it seemed fine … only now they won’t work again.

Hmmm the b is now working but I still don’t have a comma. Ah well, I’ll cope, I’m sure. For now I copy & paste the comma from earlier texts.

It’s 30°C again today, but at least there is a cool breeze – which won’t be the case in Pretoria. I’m lethargic and apathetic again today and I’m also sick and tired of feeling this way. It can’t go on throughout the summer – and normally doesn’t.

I’ve cleaned the kitchen, the litter _ox … grrr and now the ‘_‘ is playing up again! This is insuffera_le! Anyway, the laundry is folded and packed away as well so today’s tasks are done.

It’s just past the halfway mark to M-day (moving day) and more than half the work is done. The worst of what’s left is the kitchen – wrapping everything carefully in newspaper, glasses, plates and such.

I’ve come to realise that starting a new weaving project required either skill or patience and since I don’t have the skill, yet, I’ll need patience. I had thrown away the round one I started yesterday in a fit of impatience, but I took it out and that’s what I’m working on now.

AND: I’ve just had my first order for a basket! Rose asked me to make her one to keep the eggs on the counter! I had started another square one, but it’s proving to be somewhat difficult, so I’ve put it aside for now.

I was thinking of waiting till Romeo wanders off, give my mippies some more time outside, but then remembered how much difficulty I had getting them in last time … unfortunately I was too late! It’s nearly eight now and Lady Jane is still outside – Ziva and Mewly are curled up on the sleeper couch having enjoyed their treat. Lady Jane would NOT listen and just ignored my calls.

I also forgot that the lounge light bulb blew just as I was about to switch them off last night … so I’ve had to put a new one in. It’s lovely and bright – should’ve done it long ago!

Well her Ladyship has deigned to come inside. I opened the door and she was sitting on the stairs waiting to be let in! Now she’s slinking around the flat quietly – no mipping – she knows she did wrong!

I’ve just finished my third basket! The round one! Still the same problem, though: it gets narrower at the top. I’ll need to come up with some means of keeping it as wide as the bottom in future.
