I got up none too early again today, and enjoyed a
leisurely morning. Had my coffee, let the mips out, let Romeo in, played my
game online, had another coffee. It was just such luxury not to have a schedule
breathing down my neck!
Rose arrived and couldn’t park her car in the shade,
because Mewthos was lying there with no intention to move! I came down to say
hello and while we were chatting, Lady Jane investigated the open car windows –
she clearly wanted to climb in, but fortunately decided against it! Not that
there’s a problem – except when she wants to get out again!
I went to visit Rose shortly afterwards and we had a
lovely, long, leisurely time! Frankie was sitting on the counter next to the
phone – ha ha, Rose has her own Receptionist! Lady Jane came in and out and
entertained us the entire time! At one point, I was bending next to Rose,
showing her on her phone using Google Maps where I’ll be staying in Pretoria.
She got a fright when I suddenly stumbled forward … Miss Mip Jane had come out
of nowhere and jumped onto my back! That girl can not resist an opportunity
like that! When Rose saw Lady Jane perched on my rump we both had a good laugh!
It is just too funny the way my mippies jump onto me without warning and
without a care what I’m busy with!
Her cats were also in attendance, Shadow stayed curled
up on her chair the whole time we were there. She followed us out, when we went
into the garden. I wanted to take a photo of the Agapanthus which was in full
flower. Rose told me this was only the second time it has flowered since she’s
been here, so I absolutely had to get a photo!
I took more photos of her flowers, and then couldn’t
help myself and started weeding! I also took a photo of where Abby’s ashes are
buried – right next to where her favourite brother, Toffee, lies. Both used to
love lying together under that Spekboom! What is it with cats and Spekboom? All
of mine are crazy about them as well.
When we went back inside, Frankie was sitting on Rose’s
bed. I went to say hello and scratch him behind the ears … when I started to
walk away, he indicated a desire to come with, so I picked up a purring Frankie
and carried him to the lounge!
It started to get rather cold, and when Rose went to
fetch a jersey, she remembered her washing! With me coming to visit, she
completely forgot to hang it up! It around three, so I took myself home – where
I found Mew & Ziva – and let Rose to her laundry.
Urgh, I think Felix must have been inside while I was
visiting Rose – I can smell cat pee in my lounge! Felix must have been around
while I was down stairs!
I don’t know where Mewthos has wandered off to, but
Ziva and Lady Jane are curled up together on the chair behind me. I’m having
the last of Rose’s delicious apple spice cake – she was quite right today, when
she suggested that I’ll miss her baking!
Mippies came inside without any trouble again. I gave
them a chicken in gravy, and they even ate most of the meat, so I gave them
another treat. They kept themselves amused by bouncing off the walls – I think
I saw Lady Jane jump off the top of the fridge onto my washing machine, at one
point! Then settled down … then Mewthos got a bug and quite adamantly insisted
I play with him. I just needed to close my game-cities, so I asked him to wait.
No. Mewl, mewl, meeeeewwwwwl. I shouted at him. Meep? So he played with his
wurmpie – he throws it in the air and chases after it, then holds it in his
paws and scratches at it with his hind legs, rolling all over the floor, then
throws it in the air again! Every now and then he kept looking at me as if to
ask “Are you done with that dumb stuff, yet?” When I didn’t get finished fast
enough, he threw himself at my arm! Ha Ha! The Ottoman wasn’t in place for him
to get up on that to reach my shoulder, so he literally went on his hind legs
then jumped … as if he was trying to tap me on the shoulder!
I relented and we played – Ziva and Lady Jane joined
in very quickly! Funny how a plain bamboo stick and a newspaper can keep all
three happily entertained! No other toy captures their attention like that
simple stick! Anything else they might play with for a while, but that stick?
They’ll play with that anytime and it takes a long time for them to get bored!
