I woke up even earlier than yesterday, and although it
is overcast, I have no headache! I think it’s caused by a combination of
conditions.
Well, New Year, New … ha ha new nothing for me! Same
old drudge to pack, get ready and fight depression. I’m fortunate that I don’t
suffer from clinical depression, it’s purely due to current circumstances, and
since they are temporary, so is this feeling of being stuck in a black hole.
Mine does have light at the end of the tunnel, though, so it really can’t be
compared to clinical depression.
Mippies flopped and napped around the lounge,
patiently – and quietly – waiting for the time to open the front door! When I
looked out the window, I saw Romeo and Felix on Rose’s lawn, glaring at each
other. I think I should re-name him Roameow! It’s far more accurate!
I’ve packed another box, the blender/mixer, the
bathroom scale and some other kitchen stuff. I’ve filled the gaps with some
clothes. I’ve brought in more boxes from the garage – all the original ones for
appliances.
It’s awfully hot again today, mippies are melting on
my window sill. It’s not even noon and we’re already past the 30°C mark! I’ve
already changed once, from the T-shirt to the open-back patterned red top.
I’ve cleared all photos from the camera and uploaded
the last 2018 photos to my blog. The keyboard is a dream, but the mouse is
still erratic! Sometimes it works better on the desk and sometimes on the mouse
pad. I just realized that some of the photos didn’t copy to the blog folder, so
I didn’t edit nor upload them. Sigh! That’s the trouble with this mouse – on
several occasions it copied entire folders! Most vexing!
Lady Jane is still keeping watch over me! She hardly
ever goes outside, but stays with me all the time! When she wants to go
outside, she mips at me to come with her – when I don’t she doesn’t go further
than the top of the stairs, where she can keep an eye on me!
Uh! I am catless! How refreshing! Ha Ha! I’m not sure
when and why, nor where they went, but I’m going to sit in my armchair! I’ve
packed the juicer and the slow cooker. I’ve cleaned the boxes for the water
filter and for the steamer. I’ve packed the old keyboard set into its box, it
will fit with the new one into the box it was shipped in; plus some extra
things from the desk. I found the toaster box, ha ha! That is already packed.
I’m not sure why I had energy to pack today, yet on
other days I have none. Well, the kitchen is nearly finished now. Next, I want
to finish the lounge then the bathroom and finally my bedroom. Then I can relax
and pack books …
Rose tells me the fireworks last night were so loud,
the place sounded like a war zone – I slept through it, quit soundly! She also
told me that Miss Nosy called her before coming to see me – apparently she didn’t
have the manners to say who’s speaking, just went on and on about a cat, giving
Rose a fright, worrying whether something happened to one of our kitties! What
a thoughtless person!
I’m happy to see that Romeo is shadowing Rose when she’s
outside, getting lovies and attention from her! While we were chatting, he –
again – sprayed the wall, right between us! Rose sniffed, but couldn’t smell
anything – yet, when he sprays her porch, it pongs! I’m coming to believe that
he can choose to either spray with or without pong.
As we were talking the skies darkened and we could
hear thunder rumbling, I even saw lightning – and I’m afraid my headache
started to set it. Mildly, but persistent. I never thought of myself as sensitive
to the weather! It’s rather an embuggerance!
Well, I’m taking a chance that it will rain tonight –
I’m not up to watering the garden tonight.
Twenty to eight all three mippies are coming in! As I
try to shut the door, all three march out again! Ha Ha! I have to fill their
bowls before I can shut the door.
A little later, Lady Jane is stretched out along the
window sill … Ziva tries to jump up, but instead of an empty sill, finds Lady
Jane … and falls off! I was worried for a bit there, whether she got hurt,
since she fell on her side, not on her feet (too short a fall to right
herself), but she seems quite okay.
Sigh, as the evening progresses, it’s getting warmer
and humid – and my head is feeling worse.
Ha Ha! Mewthos is such a cheeky bugger! I’m sitting in
my armchair with a plate of ice cream, he just climbs up, and – bold as brass –
starts helping himself! Right off my plate, in my hands! Ziva and Lady Jane
look on in disgust at his bad manners!
