Day 85 of 100, Wednesday 16th January

To try and get out of the dog box, I carried my mippies – one by one – to the bedroom, last night. They all went right back to the lounge – except for Ziva! She stayed for scritchies and lovies, then went out only to come back for more. She did that several times!

This morning I had no wake-up call from Ziva, though, even though she was still with me in the bedroom. It had started raining during the night and this morning everything is wet with puddles everywhere. Mippies don’t like that at all! They took a look and came right back inside – mipping at me to play with them! Even Ziva is more inside than out!

Which bodes well for the trip to Move-A-Pet today! I should have no trouble shutting them in, so I can go out! I’m hoping to get to Spar as well for a few things – like more ice cream, more custard, some meat and perhaps a few greens.

The Agency called for a viewing and we agreed to half four. We should be back by that time. Though I may enjoy my ‘freedom’ and gallivant a bit! Ha Ha!

I’m trying to entertain the mippies with some of their kibble puzzles – Lady Jane is quite fascinated, and I just have to fill them with Whiskas to make them happy.

I’m treating myself to Rose’s yummy apple spice cake today – and I’m glad to report that it earns the Lady Jane Stamp of Approval! Ha ha! I just put down the empty plate to fill one of their kibble puzzles and Lady Jane sat down to help herself to the crumbs with every sign of enjoyment!

Around half one Lady Jane showed signs of getting ready to go outside, so I decided it was time to go. I gave them a treat and left.

While I was waiting for Rose, Ziva came for lovies – and I saw a place on her haunches, where a patch of fur was missing! When we got back, I held Ziva up and Rose took a look and she says it looks just like the patch on Shadow’s back, just much smaller! I’ll take a closer look tonight, and will clean & treat it then. But what on earth is going on? I someone shaving cats?

Since we were early, I asked Rose if she would mind going past the vets, where I got a stash of Royal Canin Sachets, another catnip shaker, a tin of mousse for Ziva, another CalmEze (gosh, I didn’t realize how expensive that stuff was!) and a de-wormer for Romeo … and then I saw another kibble puzzle! They will need lots of entertainment in our new home, so I got this one as well!

Then we went to Move-A-Pet – the directions they had supplied were excellent! We got there without a hitch! It was lovely meeting the people – who truly care for animals, so I feel very confident that my mippies will receive the most loving care and treatment! It took some time to finalise the invoice and get the payment through, but we weren’t in a hurry.

Next we went to look at the Cattery, where my mippies will be staying! It is awesome! They’ll have a family suite which is basically a Wendy house behind double caging with cat furniture, several cat-shelves for them to sit and sleep either high or on the ground – it’s like a luxury hotel for cats! I mentioned about Mewthos’ paw and they’ll put a bed for him on the ground. Shame, right now she has over 20 cats there who need a home! She also works with CatCare.

Well, Rose will be able to visit the mippies while they are there, which I’m really, really glad about! I asked them if I can provide anything else – food, sand, nippies – but they provide all of that and they give them the same food mine get. I can, however, give them treats!

From there Rose was kind enough to take me to Spar, where I got some meat, milk, etc – and then I had a sudden craving for cheese and tomato rolls, so I got some rolls as well. I treated myself to Sushi, and, on a whim, also got a 2 liter Coke.

We got home just in time for me to carry everything upstairs and unpack, before the lady showed up to view the flat. This one first asked “Why are you leaving?” – clearly wanting to know ‘what’s wrong with the place’! She seemed to me the kind of competent and dynamic person to get things done – I just don’t have the energy to fight on the home-front!

While she was here, my cooler box was returned – with a chocolate each for me and Rose, as a thank you for rescuing the dog food.

When I had had a chance to get my breath, I went to Rose for a spoon of sugar to take some Eucalyptus Oil – the joints in my hands were rather painful last night, but I don’t have any sugar out anymore. When I tried to add few drops to the spoonful of suger, half a teaspoon came out – I hate waste, so I took it.

Back at home I started to feel really, really strange. As if I was going to faint. I tried countering that by eating my Sushi and some chocolate, but it wasn’t enough. I went to lie down and for a while just lay still – Lady Jane came to see how I was doing, then helped herself to some toys, since I left the drawer open. Mewthos came for a stroll-through … and that’s all I remember. When I woke up it was an hour and a half later!

I still wasn’t feeling well, so I made myself a cheese & tomato roll, had some more chocolate and poured myself a Coke – something I normally avoid after noon. I started feeling better after a while. Lesson learned! On a positive note: the headache which had been building all afternoon is gone!

The weather is still very unpleasant, and all my mippies came inside soon after I got up – even Ziva! So I was able to shut the door without even having to distract them. I grabbed Ziva to take a look at her leg – I can’t get a good look at it, though, she doesn’t like being inspected. But I did manage to clean it and get some ointment on it. It doesn’t seem to be worrying her, though.

Oh, one thing: when I came into the lounge, I could smell cat-spray! I think that was Felix! When I came back from Rose’s earlier, I found him sitting on my window sill! And he’s never come inside before – at least no further than the scratcher! If only I could find WHERE he sprayed!

I’ve been having some issue with FaceBook for the past few days: for some reason I can no longer see images! I was hoping that it was some setting and I’ve looked and looked, but couldn’t find anything. There is no tech support for FaceBook, so I asked my friends via FaceBook. Three friends tried their best to help, and I tried their suggestions – none of which worked. We spent over an hour trying to work out what the problem was! In the end, I couldn’t even get into my online game – so I upgraded the Flash Player … and suddenly everything worked again! Even the images on FaceBook! Sigh!

Why was I so obsessed with fixing that tonight? Well, at the Cattery we learned that Earl’s owner is missing a cat – and I wanted to see the photo she had posted on FaceBook; what if it was Earl? I’m happy to say that it wasn’t!

As a result of all the above, it’s now half an hour to midnight, and I’m not even a little bit sleepy! I already got up late this morning – it was almost eight! I shudder to think how late it will be tomorrow!

Outside the wind is howling something fierce! The lid to the roof has already lifted, some of those gusts are coming quite hard at the windows. They don’t rattle or make any noise, but up here, it sometimes feels as if I’m in a lighthouse! It’s mostly imagination based on the noise combined with the movement of the curtains – the place doesn’t really sway.
