After each mippie had their turn for cuddles, I could
go to sleep. Slept well, woke early … and got trapped in the game, ha ha! I
created a document guiding fellows with troop selections – and when I was
half-way finished, one of the guys had got himself completely stuck with his
city layout; so I started re-designing his city, showing him step-by-step how
to get from where he is, to where I suggest he should get. That is quite a long
process and takes full concentration since I have to not only keep in mind all
the changes, but also in which order things change – and a lot of other statistics.
I got so absorbed in the design, I didn’t notice that
today was very hot – Rose told me this afternoon! I also forgot to have
breakfast, and to take something out the freezer for dinner! Fortunately Rose
gave me some freshly baked crumpets this morning, so at least I had something.
Dinner was a different story, though: I no longer have
much left to whip up a quick meal! I ended up with quite a strange concoction:
pasta with peas and beans, a tomato, a can of tuna and crumbed Feta! Oh, and a
cube of vegetable stock and two eggs.
Rose was out most of the day, but came back this
afternoon – and asked if I had survived the heat! Ha Ha, I was so engrossed in
the layout, I never noticed whether it was hot or cold! A little later she
called me: Mewthos was wandering outside her gate towards the road! Fortunately
he came back the instant I called him! That boy has a death wish! I don’t know
what I have to do to keep him safe! I hold him responsible for the grey in my
hair!
When it was time to call them in – Mewthos was already
mewling for his treat. Ziva came bounding across the lawn … and Romeo came just
as eagerly! No sign of Lady Jane! I gave my mippies their treat – but still, no
Lady Jane. So I gave Romeo the chicken Ziva won’t eat … only to have Ziva sit
down at Romeo’s bowl and start eating with every sign of enjoyment!
And they all went out before I could shut the door or
grab anyone! I waited and waited, and called and called. Not so much as a
whisker! Eventually Ziva came in, so I gave her another treat and shut the
door. It was going on half nine, so I grabbed Ziva, shut her in the bedroom and
went outside. It’s too dark to see anything, not even the stairs under my feet,
so I grab the portable light I use during power outages and went back outside.
Lady Jane was at the bottom of the stairs and came up … somewhat reluctantly. I
grabbed her and shut her in with Ziva, so I could go looking for Mewthos! He
sat by the tree in the middle of my garden – just looked at me, not really keen
to move! When I went down the stairs, he came to greet me, so I grabbed him,
went back upstairs, shut him with the ladies in the bedroom … put the lock on
the gate, shut and locked the front door and let my mippies out! What a
mission!
They decided they should have a treat for being inside
– I decided I should look after food for myself, instead! It was nine o’clock
when I finally got to sit down and eat!
