Day 74 of 100, Saturday 5th January

I woke up at three in the morning! Don’t ask – I have no clue why. For some reason I felt wide awake, I tried turning over, but couldn’t go back to sleep. Probably because the mippies decided that, since I’m awake, they can start clattering! They started playing with one of their rat-race sticks, which I had picked off the carpet (so I could vacuum) and placed on the dresser. Mippies trying to pick it up is quite noisy at that time of the morning!

I got up, made myself coffee and listened to the birds waking up! This is such a peacefully quiet area! I wonder how I shall cope if I end up in a noisy suburb? Ah well, I shall know sooner than I’d like!

I’m not sure what I want to do with the day – I should pack … yeah, I don’t think that’s going to happen today! The closer the time of the move, the less I want to prepare for it! Good thing I’ve done such a lot in November already!

Oh gosh! Mippies brought a live grasshopper inside and the poor thing decides to jump onto my arm! Bit of a surprise for me!

I started putting together some data for the original Doctor Who Series; notes on certain story aspects – like main foe of the story (e.g. Daleks, Cybermen, etc.) as well as some comments regarding recurring actors. I can get quite engrossed reading trivia! Like recognizing actor names from other Series who guest starred – but at such a young age, I hardly recognize them! I can easily loose track of time when I’m fascinated!

I did, however, go and sit in the garden with my mippies for a while. They still guard me almost constantly! Yet, as soon as I pick up the key to unlock the gate, they get all excited and can’t wait to run downstairs and flop and roly poly in the garden! Ziva came running to me as well – but was disgusted with Mewthos lovey-dovey mood, so she went to play with Lady Jane instead.

The wind is quite strong today, I can hear the trees next door to Rose creak quite alarmingly! Clouds are coming and going, some look dark – I can just hope for rain! I thought I heard some thunder rumbling during the night, but the ground was quite dry.

Right now there’s a rainbow against the clouds spanning right across the bay! I took photos of the one half out the front door, and of the other end from the window – I’m too close to get it all into one shot! And now there’s some rain in the air, so the colours are even more brilliant! I can even see the inner purple! I’ve never seen the colours so clearly – and never the purple! I’m not sure whether I’m imagining this, but I think I even saw the Light Fantastic – a kind of purple green following the inner purple! Ha Ha, that’s the Colour of Magic!

The ‘rain’ is more like a spray – the drops are blowing in the wind so much, that I get the occasional spray while sitting in my armchair! Ziva is sitting on the wall, enjoying the wet! And both mippies are outside as well. I’m mip-less! Yehaa! Freedom! Which lasts all of three minutes!

Oh Lady, Lady, Lady Jane! I decided to shower early, while I was drying myself, Lady Jane went and sat in the bath and started washing herself! Then she got up and licked the water off the bath where she had just been sitting! Talk about from the frying pan into the fire – her washing was to get the wet out of her fur, while she sat in a wet bath – getting her bum and tail soaked!

Sheez! What is it with the mip-clan? The entire day I am under close guard – but when it gets near the time for all mippies to come inside? They sneak out! One by one! And refuse to come in! I had another mission collecting mippies from the garden today! Lady Jane came for a Whiskas munch at about 25 past, so I grabbed her and shut her in the bedroom – then sat back at my desk waiting for the next mippie. By half nine, Lady Jane starts complaining … so I get up and go down the stairs – in the pitch dark – and collect Mewthos, who leads me a merry chase! Carry him up the stairs, shut him in – making sure Lady Jane doesn’t dash out … and back outside for Ziva! Fortunately she comes running up the stairs, but doesn’t seem keen to go inside. So, I grab her, carry her to the bedroom – this time trying to avoid Lady Jane AND Mewthos dashing out! Back to the door, lock the gate, shut the door, lock it … let mippies out the bedroom! They wake me at three in the morning, sleep all day guarding me – and expect me to feel up to exercising 18 hours later?

I suppose I should start making a plan to spend a few hours outside every day … just don’t ask me what I’m supposed to do outside: there’s no more garden to tend, or beds to weed – although, I could sit and weed in Rose’s garden! Well, I had better come up with something to ensure ALL mippies exhaust themselves!
