This morning, Lady Jane tried to nurse! Ziva makes no
move to discourage her – I have to keep pushing her away! She shouldn’t have
any milk anymore, but she’s filled out so much and I haven’t tried to check,
either. I woke up nearer eight than seven this morning – sigh.
At work, Internet is still not working – I’m still
bringing my private WiFi router to connect. That tennis-match back-and-forth
e-mailing regarding the return transport is still continuing – Pretoria decided
to make Document A our electrician’s responsibility and is bluntly asserting
her delegative authority – Ha Ha Ha! Secretaries don’t get to delegate to management!
Especially not simply because you’re too lazy to do your own job!
My own work today has been entertaining, albeit
sporadic – there are bursts of activity followed by stretches of
‘nothing-to-do’. But eventually it’s time to go.
Back at home it was lovely to find Rose in her usual
spot on her porch! We had a lovely chat, then, when she watered her new Cosmos
plants (which our gardener transplanted from my path to just about every open
spot in her garden) I saw a Kikuyu in my beds and started pulling. By the time
I was done, I had two handfuls of roots and grass!
Back upstairs the Mips drive me insane – Lady Jane
especially seems to be in need of an overdose of cuddles and loving! She keeps
coming back for more and more and more. You know what happens if I ignore her?
She gets up on her hind legs and puts both paws on my arm! So does Mewthos when
he wants attention and I’m typing.
I cooked myself a rice & veggie dish for dinner –
I can’t remember the fancy name for it. Turned out a bit bland – I’ll add some
spices tomorrow.
Ziva came in, not too late for a change. She started
hissing at Lady Jane – I’m beginning to understand that she feels a bit
neglected, with the Mips getting nearly full-time cuddles and loving. So I
spend some time with her, gave her some yogurt – I just dipped a teaspoon in
yogurt and let her lick it off. I did that sitting on the chair, with Ziva on
the floor in front of me – bent nearly double. Mewthos took advantage of that
and jumped onto my back! Walked all over me while I was treating his mum!
Ziva showed no interest in the tuna in her food bowl –
until I picked up bits with the teaspoon and hand-fed her … and pushed intrusive
Mips away from her food bowl. To round it off, I open one of the sachets and
divide the contents among the three bowls. Which all three eat very happily!
Sigh, I really need to make a plan for my three Mips
to need a little less attention from me – it’s almost nine and I’ve not really
had time to myself, yet. I’ve spent the evening cuddling, calling, cuddling
some more, feeding, loving three felines. Oh, and I’ve cleaned out their litter
box. I’ve only had time for a single bowl of food for myself. Right now the
Mips are napping on the chair, but Ziva demands more attention – she’s sitting
on the scratcher howling down a storm!
Well, I’m going to make myself a cup of tea then go to
bed. Sod the lot of them!

| This massive bush of Vieruurtjies grew from seeds dropped last year And see the Cosmos in front of them? And there's a new bush of Nasturtiums on on side Oh, and one sole Gladiola seems to be doing okay |
| This is the part of the 'lawn' I cut this weekend See how high the grass has grown in three weeks? Oh, it looks all green and luscious - but you can see how dry and yellow it's still underneath |
