Relatively good night, or so I thought. I had one
very, very weird dream about a very weird type of toilet. And yet, I woke up
late. With a headache and very little energy.
At work, still no internet. And I had forgotten to
take the magazines I had planned to read at work ... so now I’m sitting here,
twiddling my thumbs. I could read up on Health & Safety – I’ve got a number
of info booklets ... but ... no. I could also clean up my files on the computer
... again ... nope. Neither is essential or even necessary ... and I just don’t
feel like either. In the end I settled on research for a project.
Back at home I’m trying a new strategy with Ziva – or rather,
I’m trying the old one again: spending a bit more time with the dear. I think
she may be feeling a bit neglected, with the two Mips getting most of my
attention – because they demand it. She did stay around, for a change. But
intensive attention did not deter her from wanting to go out after dark – so I
gave them some pilchards. Only – since they all turned their noses up at them
yesterday – today, I squished them with a fork and sat down with them while
they ate. Ziva ate quite a bit. I now remember, when I was feeding the Mips she
loved being spoon-fed – well, I’d let her lick the spoon while the Mips ate. She
does like the mousse still, but I can’t buy that for her all the time – so they
all will just have to start liking what they get.
I also took the cone off Lady Jane for a while. She
was sitting on my lap trying to wash herself, so I took the cone off and let
her wash herself – but she still tries to pull that last stitch out, so when
she seemed finished, I put the cone back on her.
They’re all settled around me now, looking cute, sweet
and innocent!
