I woke up this morning to Lady Jane doing her best to
scrabble through the fanlight! I pulled her back – by her tail, I’m afraid –
and closed it! Frightening thought! She may have managed to land on the outside
sill, but it slopes downward – it’s more likely she would have fallen off! And
there is just no good place to land, it’s all full of pots, rubble, slabs –
hard, awkward surfaces. What a start to the day!
So I get up, make coffee, let the Mips out. While I’m
quietly sipping my coffee, suddenly there’s a screech and fury outside –
evidently The Terror is visiting! Turns out she went after Lady Jane – who was
exploring Rose’s garden!
Now they’ve both come inside for attention, after
which they go nap on the chair next to mine. I get up, Mippies get up. I step
outside for fresh air, Mippies run happily off into the garden! Lady Jane
visits Rose, who’s in her courtyard. Mewthos is now exploring Rose’s garden –
happy energy dispersion!
In the afternoon I spend some time in the garden and
Rose joins me! Ha ha, she always thought it cute to dangle her wool in front of
the Mips – today she found Mewthos had chewed through it! Lady Jane chased a
bird, across the entire garden, outside the fence and up the tree! I didn’t see
how high she went, but Rose reckons very high. Until a stranger walked past in the
street – and Lady Jane fairly plopped out of the tree and ran full speed all
the way upstairs! Mewthos also felt that with me sitting downstairs he can go
explore farther – he enjoyed a full exploration of Rose’s garden.
For myself, I cut the grass around the beds. It had
grown quite tall again, and I want a wide space between my flowers and the
weed-eater on Friday, when the garden disservice wreak their havoc again.
Ironic, isn’t it? Well, it’s looking much better, and I also have more room to
walk on my path.
Just before we went back inside, I watered the
relocated Cosmos again – they’re drooping quite a bit. Mewthos followed me
around extremely curious about this watering thing I’m doing – I didn’t see him
at first, so he got watered as well! When I refilled the can, he came running
to watch the water coming from the tap going into the can, then followed me
around again as I watered the garden. He stayed very close to the spray, so he
did get a bit wet again. He is weird!
As I go to bed, Lady Jane comes and burrows under the
duvet! Every now and then she likes to snuggle by my legs under the duvet, not
for too long though. My cats are weird. And I love them for it!
