Good night, although I had trouble falling asleep. As
a result, I woke up late after all! It is still drizzling outside – it would
seem it has been drizzling steadily most of the night, we really, really need
the water!
Ziva went out – albeit hesitantly – when I opened the
door. She sort of stuck around, but wouldn’t come back in, either, and the Mips
were sticking their noses in the gap trying to go out as well so I closed the
door on her. When I was leaving for work, I called her and saw her coming from
the road, so I waited until she deigned to come upstairs, opened the door and
made up her mind for her by pushing her inside.
Well, with everything wet, I had put on the wrong
shoes – but opted to bear it today. By the time I got to work, my feet were
soaking wet.
Today, I took my private WiFi router to work, so that
I can actually work at work for a change. With the work e-mail, however, there
are some security issues, so we had to get the configured program from Head
Office, install it on my PC before I could access my e-mails. And then they
just flooded in ... there was a host of back-and-forth regarding one transport
relating to the Pretoria project – facepalm material! Total and complete
facepalm. With a brick! I’m only CC’d because a month ago, Pretoria assumed
that it concerns the Uitenhage project and I replied ‘No, it’s yours’ giving
exact details what it is about and what is required ... the latest exchange
goes as follows: Transport company, who’s hold Document A writes to Pretoria
“Please send us document A” to which Pretoria replies “Please stipulate what
document you want” ... See what I mean about the facepalm? With. A. Brick!?!
I’m tempted to rant here, but I think I’ve done a fair share already.
Everything else was pretty simple, I had to explain,
of course, why I’m taking such a long time replying, but my own work is usually
up-to-date and professional. He he.
Back at home I was just so glad to take of my soaking
wet shoes and socks! When I tried to hang up the socks, Ziva came running –
she’s developed a love for the spare bedroom. Whenever the door opens, she
comes running inside.
Next I had a bite to eat. I took a salad from the
fridge and while getting a fork I looked out the window – and saw Lady Jane
stalking two pigeons! That looked entertaining, so I ate my salad by the
window. Mewthos came for a cuddle session, so I pulled the chair closer,
watched Lady Jane and scratched Mewthos’ neck whenever he was in reach. The
pigeons flew off leaving Lady Jane bemused – then distracted by Ziva running up
the tree going out as far on a limb as was safe. When she got down, my
entertainment was over, I moved to the desk with my salad. Mewthos had enough,
and Lady Jane came for her cuddle session.
When both Mips were inside, I shut the door, lured her
Ladyship into the carrier and took her to the vet. To have the last stitch
removed – and check up on the wound. All’s well and Lady Jane is a happy –
possibly weight-gaining – sports model! Next up: Mewthos! I talked to the vet
about him, I had read online that, if his testies haven’t fully dropped, it
could lead to serious problems, but the vet assured me he’s old enough and
ready. She also said that those statements were not supported by any scientific
studies. Well, she’s the qualified vet – and, although I have had countless
issues with doctors, I’ve only once had anything like an issue with a vet. So,
my mind is at ease – I’ll get hold of CatCare to make the appointment first
week of April. Or maybe last week of March.
Well, Ziva and Mewthos are very happy I bring Lady
Jane back home, as happy as Lady Jane is to be home. They’ve played outside,
they’ve played inside, they’ve done the ‘cute nap’ thing, Ziva came in for some
cuddling, some food, some annoying ‘let me out’ – so I drugged her – after some
acting up she’s now curled up on the chair next to me.
I’m going to go for an early night and since it’s
lovely and cold I should sleep well and hopefully wake up early! I would so
love to break this ‘wake-up-late’ thing, it’s really starting to get me down.
