I had such a laugh at Mewthos last night! He came to
bed and looked for some material to do his twirly thing with. Not finding
anything, in desperation, he took the clothes I was wearing! It was hilarious!
I felt sorry for him, so I took my top off and put it down in front of him – he
gratefully picked it up, carried it to a spot next to me and started twirling
enthusiastically! Afterwards he cuddled up in my arms and went to sleep.
The night was again unbearably hot and humid – it
promised to be cool at first, but I woke up a few times. As a result I woke up
even later – and got to work very late indeed.
At work I still have no internet, but with our
electrician back, things are now happening. He arranged that a cable was laid,
so I can at least print now; and he authorised that I can get a a mobile stick
plus data, so we’re no longer dependent on Hellkom. I’ll have to make a plan
sometime this weekend – for tomorrow, I’ll bring my router from home. I will be
compensated for the data used. Oh, and we had a super fantastic breakfast! I’m
so full now, I don’t think I can eat again today!
I made an appointment this afternoon for Lady Jane, to
have her last stitch removed. I’m leaving work early again, today, so it’ll be
a bit tricky catching her & Mewthos in time – Mewthos must be inside as well,
because I’ll have to lock the door, of course. Looking at the weather, though,
I shouldn’t have much of a problem – here in Uitenhage it’s been drizzling with
interludes of rain for the past couple of hours. It’s lovely and cool as well.
Hopefully it is raining in PE as well, then the Mips won’t want to spend much
time outside.
Back at home, I’m not being greeted by Ziva – she went
out this morning and didn’t want to go back inside when I left for work … I
guess when it started raining she found cover and is staying there, for now.
Ditto Shadow, I’m told.
The Mips are not impressed with this wet stuff
outside. They rush out, skid on the painted stairs, come back inside, jump up
my leg as if to ask “Make it stop, please?”
Considering the weather, I called to post-pone Lady
Janes stitch-ectoly to tomorrow. Mips are zooming around like maddened pinballs
– bedroom, lounge, stairs, skid, and back again. Lady Jane spends a lot of time
wanting cuddles, in between the zooming around. I tried to new bars to the
scratcher – but I will need to widen the holes. And I don’t have a drill-bit
for that.
Around four Ziva finally shows up – it’s still
drizzling non-stop, so I guess she heard me calling and took a chance running
through the rain to get home. First stop: food bowl. I dry her off as much as I
can – meantime, Mewthos nearly topples the scratcher again in his enthusiasm.
Great, now my flat sounds like a racetrack: three Mips
tearing through the rooms – bedroom, passage, lounge and back. That is, when
they are not on my kitchen counter looking for … I don’t know what, because
they have everything they could want in their ‘allowed’ space.
Things are definitely strange between Ziva and
Mewthos. One minute she lets him try to nurse – I put a stop to that – then
they are play-chasing each other through the flat and the next minute she’s
growling at him when he only tries to snuggle next to her for a nap. And then
again, they nap cute and sweet together.
For some strange reason, it’s Mewthos and Ziva napping
on the chair next to me now, while Lady Jane is curled up on the blankie. Maybe
I need to get a bigger chair? Well, I have been thinking of getting a comfy living
room chair, something I can snuggle in to either read or watch a movie – with space
for three cats … is that unrealistic?
