Normal start to the day, it's somewhat cold again this morning. Mippies wanted outies, now they want their 'I'm back' cuddles!
I've finished my gardening post for yesterday ... feeling a bit lazy now ...
I just paid my bills, and I'm dismayed to see my balance today is lower than last month! But I've been so careful? Do I need to go back to setting up a budget? Sigh ...
No. I don't feel like it. I'll give it another month, and see how I fare in April.
I'm still feeling lazy ... I started some of the small chores, like cleaning the litter box, folding and packing away the laundry. Then I decided to tackle the water fountain. I figured out how to open it up, so I could get at the pump (just gently press on the sides at the bottom). Yes, it seems that the cat hairs had clogged it, so I cleaned everything, put it back together, filled it up and hoped. Doesn't look like it worked ... though the pump seems to be working fine?
Five solid minutes later and it's running beautifully! Phew! That is really a relief, because, if cleaning hadn't worked ... I wouldn't know what else to do!
I decided to try and bake sausage rolls - bread rolls, that is. I just can't get started, though ... sigh ...
Half past one and I've finally got the dishes washed.
Quarter past two and I've placed the meat order. I really should start the bread dough ...
Okay, half an hour later and the bread dough is on the go. Having last watched a 3-part Science Fiction, which I enjoyed, I thought I'd stay on that theme ... only ... I think, after this past year, Science Fiction has lost its appeal! I'm now trying 'Elementary', another 'present-day' adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. I wasn't overly enamoured of it when I watched it before, though ...
I'm not sure why I'm feeling so down today. Possibly something to do with being in lock-down an entire year, and rather than seeing an end in sight - there's talk of going back to harder levels over the Easter weekend. I figured maybe Level 2, but going by the rumours - backed by news stories which have 'disappeared' ... yeah, I don't know.
I decided to take a nap, start fresh. It worked, I'm feeling much better. The weather has also turned. Again! It's overcast and thunder is rumbling quite loudly. The first drops are coming down, so I quickly take the photos for my gardening journal, before it gets too dark.
Smeagol turned up, and I gave him the left-over lamb pate - my mippies always reject left-overs, Smeagol is not that choosy! I've also filled his kibble bowl - but I'll need to be careful with the FIT 32, as I've just put the last of it in the dispenser. It has to last 2 weeks ... it won't, I know. Mippies won't be happy ...
I made my sausage rolls, and also wrapped each sausage in a thin slice of cheese. Should be awesome! They're in the oven now ...
The drizzle turned into a downpour, I got mippies in, took my daily reading - only, the veranda roof leaks just over the table. It leaked onto the hygrometer - not good! So, I re-arranged things, so that now it leaks into the succulent nursery.
Half an hour later, it stops raining, clouds are clearing ... we're ready for a sunny day tomorrow! Mippies are now inside, and a little puzzled about that, but not unhappy. It's just after five ...
Cheesy sausage rolls look good! I'm not sure what I'll have for dinner tonight ... I still have some steak to fry ... yeah, should do those first. The bag is already open.
Dinner shared, though mippies were very economic. Only one piece each. I'm ready to call it a day ...
