Smeagol showed up late last night, close to nine. I gave him a treat and was able to stroke his head a little - but he's very wary. Good to see him, though!
Early morning, for a change, and - despite traffic - I'm at work on time.
Back to my planting calendar. Issue: I got seeds for Delicious Monster, which don't keep for long, so I should plant them soon. But: the leaves are poisonous and should be kept away from pets. Sigh ... Well, I'm gonna try to grow it anyway. If it grows, I'll think of a safe place ...
I just re-read my post for a year ago ... man, so banal! Landlord barking at me over some new tick in his head, Mini getting inventive in her wake-up-mommy methods, gardening ... planning my monthly shopping trip ... I gather my vacuum sealer is one year old, as I got it just before the lock-down started. No clue of what lay ahead ...
Anyway, back to today. Just one thing I want to say: I'm grateful every single day for the wonderful home I have found! I love the home, the garden, the potential ... everything, just so much! And my mippies love it just as much! They are so happy there, no piddles, no upsets, no funny behaviour, no staying out in the evenings ... and every day I'm grateful they are safe and happy!
And their munchies have arrived! Nice! Since that debacle last year, I like to always have one full bag of kibbles in stock, so I make sure the next one arrives just after I've opened one.
I've been thinking garden most of today. I'm pretty sure I will finish the last bit of jungle lawn on the main lawn today. What I should tackle next, is the partition out front, where the grass is still a jungle ... but I just don't want to! I'm hoping that it will be a lot quicker with the sickle - which should be delivered next week.
I'd really like to have a patch where I can grow herbs and veggies. Now, please! But where? I'd also like to get those bottomless pots off the veranda and into the garden. Again: where?
The trees should be planted on the west side. That way, anything in front of them will get morning sun and afternoon shade, which is best for all plants. Just looking at the flower bed out back, the portion on the west is doing great, but the portion further east, which gets afternoon sun ... not so good.
Smeagol was waiting for me, when I got home. Just in case he worked out that he gets a treat when he shows up late at night, I gave him a treat today. Unfortunately, he had already eaten his fill in kibbles, so he couldn't finish the bowl. He did his best, though!
I watered the back lawn - well, I put the sprinkler on for the flowers. When I had finished the indoor chores, I moved it to the succulent bed, which also waters the bed in front of that - which is what I decided to clean next, and where I'll place the bottomless pots.
Then I tackled the jungle ... I didn't quite manage to finish it today, but there's only about one square meter left, I carried on until it was too dark, because I really didn't want to leave more than I could finish tomorrow night!
Right now, Mewthos is complaining that my dinner is getting cold ... sigh ... I had better eat and share ...
