Lock-down Day 362

Very early morning. I turned over when the alarm first went off, but when the power dipped, I woke up with a start! My precious coffee! What if they've re-started load shedding and I can't have coffee? Disastrous!

But it wasn't load shedding. I'm not sure what happened, but the power just dipped - went off for a few seconds, twice, then stayed on. That was at six, and since I was wide awake, I got up. I had forgotten to turn off the geyser last night ... sigh ... and it was a cold night, so that wasted quite a bit of electricity.

Coffee, mippie milkies, morning smoke, get dressed, off to work.

I was searching for an app that would allow me to crop and compress images - something simple, where I wouldn't have to wade through hordes of options ... I tried searching from the phone, then I looked through the user manual ... nothing. Then it occurred to me, to see if maybe that is such a basic thing, it doesn't even get mentioned? Success! I can very simply crop images on the phone!

Only ... when I save the cropped image, I don't yet know, whether that will override the existing image? Hmmm ... better backup my images before I start experimenting. I meant to do that anyway, so that I can delete images I don't want on the phone, yet still have them available. Space on the phone is limited, of course. And if I'm going to take photos of seedlings every single day, I'll soon run out of space!

Done!

I've managed to upload the images of the seeds I sowed last month - bit of a mission getting them placed correctly. They just wouldn't move or go where I wanted them - in the end, I gave up on placing them a little more aesthetically pleasing ... they were in the right sequence, and every attempt at change just messed things up. Ah, well ... nobody is looking at that blog anyway, so it doesn't matter ...

I just checked when Easter is ... and it's next weekend. Not this coming weekend, the one after - which means 3 short weeks in a row! So, I had better arrange another juice delivery for next week! Ditto meat.

Juice order is planned. Meat order can wait for now ...

Work got a little busy and I haven't got around to uploading yesterdays Gardening Journal photos ... maybe tonight? If mippies permit? Ha Ha!

Okay, what the heck is it with mippies and that flower fountain? I came home to find the poor thing gasping and gurgling like a fish out of water! Lid off, towel soaking wet ... mippies grinning! WHY? Just ... why? Obviously, there's an issue - but, for the life of me, I can't figure out WHAT the issue is, so I can't resolve it. I'm seriously thinking of wiring it shut or putting some rocks on top! Sigh ...

I did my chores, and by the time I was finished, it was already getting dark. No use getting out my gardening gear to start weeding now ... it gets darker earlier every day, soon I'll be coming home in the dark again ... I'm a little worried about leaving in the dark, getting onto that crazy road. It's bad enough now, in daylight - I don't know whether I will cope in the dark ...

Quite a few pansies growing in my pot!

As you can see, there are various types of leaves coming up, so not ALL are pansies. I think the four-leaf plants must be pansies, since they are predominant. The rest? Probably weeds, but until they grow a bit more, I can't be sure. There's always the chance of old seeds germinating now.

That's one of the reasons I've started the Gardening Journal. Specifically taking photos of the first sprouts popping up, until the second set of leaves have formed. So that, in future, I can refer to that, to identify green stuff popping up.

My Hanging Basket is also somewhat of a wonder garden. I really can't tell what any of this is.
The last seeds I sowed there was Echinacea, a type of daisy. But over the years I've sowed
such a variety of seeds in there - none of which seemed to take ... maybe they're all coming
out of hiding, now? Or maybe it's all just weeds? I wonder ...

Well, I've treated mippies, bathed, shared my dinner, now Mew-Mew is sitting and mewling for ... I have no idea what more he wants! Hang on, what am I saying? It's MEWTHOS! He wants what he always wants: Another treat! Mr Gobbles-it-all! He is the most vocal campaigner for increased number of treats every day! Every. Single. Day! Sigh ...

It's just past eight, I have just enough time to watch the rest of the last episode of 'Vera'. I haven't decided, yet, what I'll watch next ...
