Lock-down Day 602

Thursday, 18 November

Mewthos decided I should get up early. He also woke me several times during the night, mewling for ... who knows what reason? Well, I got up, had my coffee, sat for a think ... off to work.

At work, I quickly ran off to get groceries ... my milk is already sour! I've opened yet another long-life milk. I had to call someone to tell me the friggin' prices of milk - there is buggerall up! Same goes for all the produce - so, I bought nothing. Oh, except for a packet of Kiwi! I want to try and grow those, too! Ha Ha

I got home and could see a storm brewing ... I put on the geyser as soon as I arrived! Smeagol was around again, so I gave him a treat, not just dry food. I cleaned the litter boxes, watered the spinach & carrot patch - the potatoes are looking rather droopy ... then Smeagol went after Ziva, and I ended up closing up the back!

I settled on the drive way and carried on weeding ... storm was brewing, then a few drops came down ... and then the power went off!

I went inside, reported the power failure, tried sitting outside through the storm - but mippies were scared, so I followed them inside. Poor Ziva was hiding under the bed and wouldn't even come out for a treat!

Well, it came down in buckets! It even hailed - fortunately only small hail stones, so there shouldn't be any damage.

I tried reporting the failure via sms again - no reply. I called - and after only 10 minutes got a consultant! The sms line is down ... okay, so report it.

Since I had put the geyser on, I did at least have hot water - I must say, having a bath makes a big difference! I do sleep a lot better. Mippies have been mipping for attention the whole evening - and each got their turn ... so ... sleep ...
