Day 23 of 100, Thursday, 15th November

Another good night followed by an early morning. I woke up around twenty to six and got up half seven. Which means a long, long time of Mippies wanting out telling me “Mommy up? Door? Why door not open?” Especially Ziva! When I pick her up and drape her over my shoulders for head-scritches – as soon as I let her, she runs off and stays away for a couple of minutes! Punish her with cuddles! Ha Ha!

An hour later, they’re all back inside – even Ziva! Why? Because they collected the garden drum – that activity always chases my mippies home! Lady Jane has caught a grasshopper and brought it to the lounge … right now, Mewthos is watching it. I’m continuing the backup, now the C-drive, so I can pack it away safely. I’m also taking notes of what changed, so that I can backup my C-drive to my primary external hard-drive later.

Sigh, a full backup is not something one should have to do – you really need patience and the right mood for it! My two largest folders would take hours for a complete copy … sigh, maybe I should do that; then I just do other stuff while it’s running & hope the PC doesn’t crash mid-copy? Fortunately I did the last backup in March, so not all that much has changed. However, I did start re-arranging my music … that’s 450 GB to copy – half my C-Drive. Only, I still have to do the whole thing again, backup my C-Drive to my ‘in-use’ external hard-drive. Why two backups? Well, why not? I have already lost so much – like all the short stories I wrote – because I never had the ‘space’ to backup (as in I couldn’t afford the extra drives or discs), so now I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Argh! That open sore on Mewly’s chin is bleeding again – silly twit must be scratching it. So I cleaned it and put some ointment on. Hopefully he’ll behave now. I don’t know where they stick their heads to tear out fur by the chunk! Lady Jane has one as well! Tiny, and healing, but yeah …

It took almost all day, but the backup is finished and the drive safely packed away. Doesn’t look like a big job, but it is a major relief.

Since it was still light, though late, I decided to spend some time in the garden, as a reward. I cleaned most of the dead flowers, the dead leaves off the gem squash plant and the Nasturtiums which were totally wilted. I was almost done, all mippies playing happily, Romeo and Lady Jane in the tree … when suddenly Lady Jane cried out for help! Romeo tried to get too close for comfort and she had retreated so far she nearly fell out the tree! She was hanging by her front paws when I got there! I chased Romeo off, but Lady Jane wouldn’t come down – she wasn’t stuck, she just wouldn’t come down. She came to me, but wouldn’t get on my back, like Mewthos does. Goofball Mewthos saw me bent forward with my back an inviting platform – meant for Lady Jane – so he climbed up just to jump onto my back!

When I called them to come in, Mewthos wasn’t keen – then I used the magic word: Munchies! Ziva sped up and Mewthos took his cue from her to come racing home as well! It was funny, actually, Ziva was already coming – when I said ‘Munchies’ she started galloping at top speed!

Some biting insects were out at dusk as well, I’ve got a red welt on my arm and another place, less open to the public! Mippies are stretched out in various spots – tummy full of yummies, smiling the smile of the happy cat!
