Trouble sleeping again, so I’m not feeling too well
today. I got a message from my friend asking whether it’s raining on my side of
the bay as well, and whether he should still come. I said yes and he replied it
would be around nine; I only replied around eight.
I’m trying to revitalize myself with coffee – no luck.
Breakfast also no change. I feel like I’ve been battered, everything hurts. I
had the strangest dreams about following the cats with Rose, we were walking in
the rain, under umbrellas. Then we got to a bridge where people would drop
flowers over the rail – like coins into a wishing well. Then there was a house,
I was going to move in, but it’s not finished. I’ve dreamed about this house
many times, but it isn’t one I know. It had three bedrooms, one was under
construction – well, repair. My baby sister (in my dream she was a baby again)
needed the big one and my parents would take the smaller one – so I can sleep
on the floor in the one with the tools and ladder. There was a yellow square, I
curled up on that to sleep and all my kitties came to sleep with me.
Fortunately, at that point, Mewthos did his mewling
run-through and woke me up. My back is sore, I just want a hot bath and go back
to bed.
My friend gets here and first we chat – haven’t seen
each other in a long time! Mewthos runs outside – eventually I hear him crying,
so I take my friend to show him the garden. Then I have to ask him to act as
cat-scare by first walking away, while I put Mew down at the bottom of the
stairs, and then to come walking towards the stairs to chase him up and inside.
I had to climb over the fence to get him from the far corner in Rose’s garden –
it was Ziva, who alerted me to Mewthos distress. Smart cat! Mew spends the rest
of the day under the bed!
My friend re-arranges all the heavy boxes, packing a
lot into the empty closet, as I’ve realized that I just don’t have enough space
to pack only outside. Then we go to get more boxes from the garage – and find
yet more of them soaking wet! No clue where or how the water gets in, but even
the walls are damp! We sort through them putting labelled ones aside, and damp
ones as well. Hopefully they’ll dry. We take a stash inside.
While my friend packs books in the spare bedroom, I
take the wave display case apart – which is a major mission! Especially since I’m
working in quite cramped space. Lady Jane and Ziva are all around,
investigating, climbing into the box, chewing it a bit, and playing
hide-and-seek with each other. Mewthos stays under the bed. At one point I lure
him out with munchies, but when I pick him up he fights so unexpectedly that he
gets out of my arms – and I think he landed on his sore leg, because he went
away limping. So, back under the bed he goes!
When the display case is packed and stored in the
spare room, we call it a day. Unfortunately the weather has turned and it’s
drizzling quite a lot. I pick a bunch of flowers for my friends’ mother before
he leaves.
We had water throughout the day, though low pressure,
now we have no water. Awesome!
Mew and Lady go running outside in the rain, Ziva has
better sense and curls up on the chair behind me. I’m just trying to recover
from the day’s exertions – though I’m not the one who did the heavy work! There
are a lot more boxes inside now, so I can carry on packing regardless of the
weather. I’ll get busy with the labelled ones, where I know what will fit and
what won’t. My friend said he can get me more boxes, I just need to ask. So at
least that’s not a worry. He also carried the rest of the shopping in.
I still feel drained, without any energy – no change
since this morning. The whole day I couldn’t pull out of it, I felt half
asleep. On the whole, although we got a lot done, I don’t feel like I’ve done
anything. Surreal. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
