Oh, cool! I did sleep early and quite well, too! Some
tossing and turning – for some strange reason, no matter how tired I am when I’m
up, as soon as I lie down, I’m wide awake!
I woke up lovely and early, around half six! So I
curled up with Mewthos, who was snoozing by my legs, and dozed for another hour
before getting up. Coffee and a cookie – while the cats run around then come
look and mip at me asking ‘You up? Why door not open?’ Ha Ha! I held out until
ten past eight!
Mippies run down, Romeo runs up the stairs! He didn’t
eat the chicken in gravy I put in the bowl outside for him – not even a little!
If he starts getting fussy about food now as well, then we’re going to have a
problem! He’s now rolling happily in the catnip still in the mat from
yesterday.
With a bit of extra time this morning, I looked
through recipes again. A good starting point would be to make some stock, I can
freeze that – and if I don’t use ingredients cats can’t eat, I can use it to
make jelly. Or maybe they’ll like the stock itself.
I’ve packed more boxes and now I’m backing up my data,
which is going to take a loooooong, loooong time. I have an external hard-drive
I use to as a safety backup, which I keep in a separate place, so that next
time I’m robbed, I don’t loose everything again! Last time I lost the photos I
took at the ceremony when I spread my mum’s ashes. I also lost all those comics
I laboriously scanned in and edited – which I had been collecting for years!
Real classics, longer available in any format.
I normally just delete the backup and copy everything,
one-by-one, but that takes a whole day – well close – so this time I’m just
updating, as in checking number of files in folders, then trying to remember
what changes I’ve made. I have quite a good memory, so I’ve ‘caught’ most of
it. Just some photos I deleted, where I don’t remember which ones. Right now I’m
backing up my site work, and then I’ll have to do my PC’s C-drive … that WILL
take a long time, I can’t afford to miss anything, there.
While the PC is busy backing up one of the larger
folders, I decided to go out for a photo- and seed-collecting walk through the
garden. The seeds in the bag were starting to sweat so I put them out on brown
paper. I got a lot of Nasturtium & Cosmos seeds again, today.
Back upstairs, I start preparing dinner. It’s going to
take quite a while, since I’m cleaning and cutting spinach, carrots and
mushrooms. Cook some Tagliatelle and add some Coconut milk – and: Viola! Dinner
is served! I decided to fry each ingredient individually, the spinach, of
course, takes several panfuls – no better way to make spinach, trust me! Even
spinach-haters have liked it! I shaved the carrots – just keep ‘peeling’ off
shavings with a peeler, then fry them. The only problem, of course, is: I’ll be
eating the same food for the next couple of days! They don’t sell spinach in
single-person portions. Nothing does, which is why I’ve been turning to those
pasta salads instead of cooking food.
Dinner is delicious! I didn’t even add any spices –
just the flavour of the spinach, carrots, mushrooms and coconut milk are a
delightful combination! Maybe some nutmeg tomorrow, but not much else.
Time to call my mipsters in! They are so obedient, it’s
such a pleasure. Well, until they are bored, of course, ha ha! Then they turn
into terrors!
Everyone’s in and settled down for their naps – I’m
kind of tired myself now, so I think I’ll have a good night!
