Typical night, typical morning, typical work day.
At home, Lady Jane managed to slip out when Ziva came
in – and I had some time getting Ziva to realise her daughter had slipped out!
I decided to experiment letting them all out, see how Ziva and Shadow
supervise. Not as closely as I would like – they are not focusing on those
running the furthest from home. As in: A kitten could get to the road without
them realizing – not my idea of reliable. Not when there is a road they could
get to. So I started collecting Mip Mips and taking them back inside – Lizzy
being the last I could catch.
While Rose was visiting – sporting a cool new haircut
– I inadvertently discovered a new game: Take a stick, run it along the carpet
in a ¾ circle around myself. Mip Mips running a rat race first following the
tip of the stick to the left, then racing back to the right. Over and over and
over and over again. And then again and again and … you get the picture?
Rose found it endearing that Ziva showed her
affection, coming to sit on her lap … until I realized Rose is sitting on
Ziva’s chair. I got the Mip Mips running after their stick in the bedroom so
Rose could sneak out. Always have to come up with some trick when the front
door opens, sigh.
Now Ziva has joined her Mip Mips on the chair and is
letting the twins nurse, while Shadow is looking after Lizzy and Mewthos, also
letting them nurse. And they have ALL eaten – first Salmon wet cat food, then
their mousse mixed with their Pro-Biotic. Twice. I guess they are growing a lot
now, so they’re eating a lot, too.
Rose and I were discussing Mewthos – he has such a
cute excited kitten waddle! We both think he will grow into quite a large cat,
his paws are much larger than Lizzy’s. She’s more of a dainty, graceful cat.
None of that cute waddle.
When I come home, only Ziva and Mewthos are happy to
see me – they are around me, under my feet, wanting attention. The rest are
just happy the door is open and they can play in the lounge! And maybe slip
through the door to the great Outdoors!
Well, it’s been a typical day, hopefully I’ll have a
typical night. Again.
