Woke up with a migraine. I’d call it mild, as I’m still
functioning. I can’t take meds now, as I still need to drive – not far, though,
but still, I won’t take chances. So I have some coffee and then go to get my
groceries.
Back home six cats drive me nuts, eventually I throw
the adults out. Four kittens playing with everything they shouldn’t while I try
to have breakfast. After breakfast I can finally take my meds, which means that
sooner or later I’ll need to sleep. Well, it’s overcast, so I’m not loosing a
great day, but still. Mewthos is hanging in his carrier, sleeping. Earl wants
to join him – but there isn’t room for more than one kitten, so he settles for
my lap. Everybody has calmed down, eaten, and is now napping. Good time for me
to take the migraine dissipation nap.
Two hours, but it worked! No more migraine, of course
now I’m low on energy for the rest of the day. Oh, and a bit dizzy. But that’s
because I took a dose that’ll cure a killer migraine when I had only a mild
one. A dose that works on a killer migraine for me – I’m lucky, I need only a
small dose for worst cases. And the pills are so small, I can’t halve them. So,
I’ll feel a bit dizzy for the rest of the day. Small price to pay. But I can
only afford to pay that price, if I don’t have to drive that day.
Since the Mip Mips napped with me, they’re full of
beans now! I see mommy out the kitchen window, so I call her in. She nurses her
brood then walks around complaining – I try giving her some attention, but
eventually I just kick her out. Mip Mips orbit around me like I’m the center of
their universe. Cute, but – really? Not conducive to peace or quiet!
One problem I’ve never had in my own home: Logistics!
I know, you’re thinking “In a small two-bedroom flat? What are you talking
about?” Well, the problem is that I have to close doors now. Something I’ve
never, ever done in my home. And now I’ve got closed doors everywhere! So I
have to plan chores carefully. Making sure that everyone is locked behind the
relevant door so I can navigate where the chores need me to go. It’s when I
have to go into the spare bedroom or out the front door that I have to plan.
Well, the worst of today’s plan is done: empty the
sand box and take out the trash. Doesn’t sound like much, I know, but you try
to carry 2x5kg around. With a bunch of Mip Mips trying to play with you! Cleaned
the entire litter corner – again – placed the clean sandbox and guess who was first
to jump in and dump a load? Lady Jane! Of course!
Ziva takes full advantage of me – her private
baby-sitter – being around all day and spends most of it outside. Well, for
myself, I’m quite happy with what I’ve got done today – considering the rough
start. I have set myself some goals for this week – can’t call it a holiday,
exactly.
Ending the day with a movie – Mip Mips are exhausted
so the place is quiet.
