First good night in weeks!

Woohoo! I had a really good night! When I came to bed, all felines were in nap-mode and I had no trouble getting to sleep. What woke me up this morning? It was raining cats! Yeah – Mip Mips using my curtains as a climbing wall and plopping off it onto me! Lizzy landed first, so I opened my eyes, saw one of the twins on top of the curtain rail and rolled out of the firing zone.

Leisurely coffee while Ziva was out. Even had a second cup! Called Ziva in, spent some time fussing over her – she’s quite affectionate, just not into cuddling. This morning I held her in a cuddle-grip for a whole minute before she got restless!

Today I feel great! My normal, energetic self again. Now, if only I had some project on which to disburse all that energy!

Well, at home I ended up playing rat-race with Ziva and her offspring. Yes, you read that right: WITH ZIVA! She, too, does the occasional dash after the stick, though not as avidly as her kittens. Only, they cheat! They cheat in two ways: 1) they take turns! As in there are never more than three Mip Mips racing at any given time, mostly it’s two and sometimes only one. Instead of me tiring them out, they rest while they tire me out! And then 2) they take short-cuts! Either behind my back, or across my legs – and when racing full speed, claws are involved! If I’m ever asked whether I give blood – I give lots of blood! Just not voluntarily! (But that’s another story).

I don’t have to be in bed so early tonight, since I don’t have to get up real early tomorrow – I need to pick up the platter on my way to work, and Newton Spar says “Not before 10:00. Absolutely no earlier.”
