Tough night, tough day - but all's well that ends cute

Tough night. I got up at some point to go to the bathroom – Ziva and one Mip Mip followed me. So, when I wanted to go back, I had to wait for them to choose to return as well. At four in the morning the phone rang. The number isn’t stored, so I’m guessing it was a wrong number. At four in the morning! I went to the bathroom, Ziva followed again and wouldn’t come back when I did – so I left her outside. Ignored her continuous whining and went back to sleep!

Mewthos took advantage of my rolling on my back in the early hours, and came to snuggle up to my face, purring like a tractor! When he vacated the spot, Lizzy took his place – also purring happily, wanting attention.

I got up after eight, let Ziva in, and made my coffee. As I’m trying to enjoy it, Shadow starts whining outside the front door – so I let her in, kicked her into the bedroom and shut the door.

Did the grocery shopping, kicked the cats out and let the kittens loose – after feeding them. Oh, by the way, when I say I’m feeding the Mip Mips it’s just the mousse I’m feeding them – they have kibbles available 24/7 and help themselves to whatever treats I put down for Ziva.

Bwaa haa haa, Lizzy got herself stuck under the overturned basin – with all the rest investigating why it’s moving around! Mewthos continues to come to me, wanting to be picked up and cuddled before he continues to play.

Having tired themselves out, the cat-family went for a nap – mommy included. I tried to join them, at least for a bit. Mewthos snuggled in my arms, Lizzy draped herself over my feet and one of the twins’ snuggled up as well. A claw prevented me from actually sleeping, so I got up. Mewthos followed me to the bathroom – and jumped up onto the toilet seat before I even had a chance to sit! Well, he is quite interested in all the bathroom facilities – he stood on the cistern watching me wash my hands, I was half expecting him to jump in the basin!

Since we were both up, I decided to take him for a walk outside – which he thoroughly enjoyed! He met Rose’s female cat – well, not met, they just looked at each other from a distance. She ignored him – which might have something to do with Shadow lurking in the background hissing. He had quite a long stroll and enjoyed exploring inch by inch. Unlike the twins, he takes his time, strolls slowly and sniffs everything along the time.

Back upstairs he’s quite happy to join his siblings snoozing, so I went into the garden. I’m not so much weeding these days, as removing dead flowers. A lot of the Cornflowers have dried out, there are still Nasturtiums – especially under the bicoloured Sweet Peas. I harvested Radishes, then collected Sweet Pea seeds.

I went upstairs for a break – and found my Oregano plant on the floor! The Mip Mips were in the bedroom, so that was Ziva! That cat absolutely exasperates me! She is demanding, she talks non-stop demanding attention, she is a bad mother and she does not even reward my patience and efforts with so much as a cuddle! And now I have to re-vacuum the lounge because she pulled down a pot plant! She is not a nice pet to have – which, I guess, is why she was homeless most of her life! The vet guessed her age at 18 months, and we’ve seen her in our gardens for most of those – approximately a year before she moved in with me. So basically, as soon as she outgrew kitten-cute she was thrown away. Well, I won’t do that. She’s calmed down in many ways, she’s learned to use the litter box – it’s just that, on top of four demanding kittens needing full time supervision, she’s a bit much.

And then there are moments like now, when she’s actually playing with her kittens. Ziva. Playing. That is so rare.

I hope that the twins find homes soon, Lizzy will go to hers soon – and I know that with just Mewthos and Ziva, I can cope. And give more attention to Ziva, integrating her into a family. My family. I’ve never had a difficult pet before, Mynx was easy, low-maintenance and very loving. He’d sleep in my arms at night. I miss that, still.

I hope the twins find homes soon. I haven’t lived much since they all started walking. I haven’t spent any real time in the garden, got any joy from it – just done what needed doing urgently. I haven’t taken time to cook anything special for myself, or even much. Apart from reading, I’m not spending any time on any real hobbies. I relax online, but don’t really play. And I’m not getting enough sleep. I love those two playful little darlings, and it will hurt to let them go – but I need to live, too. I’m too old to keep this up much longer.

They are cute, though.
I couldn't help myself, I put Lizzy back under the basin
fun ensued

The front door - my nemesis!
They ALL want to run out
all the time!

Mewthos and his brother play-fighting

Such an unusual pattern

Still playing with the basin
they tend to chase their tail inside it

We help with the paperwork!

I tried to get a snap of him walking along the top
but his balance isn't too good, yet
