I woke quite early, but as I was still tired, I simply
stayed in bed. Ziva demanded to be let out – I ignored her. By eight I decided
to get up and let her out. I shut the Mip Mips in the bedroom, though, and hid
in the lounge from them. For two hours. I really, really need a break.
I put the sandbox outside, it’s drying, but it is also
extremely windy today. And as I am still tired – two hours later – I haven’t
gone to get my groceries. Now I’ve let them loose in the lounge, knotted my
curtains – hopefully out of reach. Short sleeve has developed an unsettling
habit of jumping on my desk. I push her off immediately, but I don’t think she
understands. I’ve had to pick Quizzy Lizzy off my bedroom curtain – right at
the top! She was just about to clamber onto the curtain rails!
Oh great! The mommies – both outside – have decided
that the sandbox is THE place to go! So, while I’m thinking the sand is drying,
actually it’s being filled with crap! Literally! Remember the difficulty I had
teaching her to USE the damn thing? She used to hold it till she could go
outside to relieve herself … and now? Talk about a boomerang, eh?
Well, my clothes are washed, the flat is vacuumed –
now I better re-open the bedroom to let the savages out so I can clean that
room, too. Well, cleaned the litter corner – and we still have an
out-of-the-box widdler! Fortunately still not on the carpet – the three layers
I use to prevent that, seem to be effective! Now I still have the bedding to
wash – but first, I should take that off the bed, right?
Well, how about that? Ziva decides to nurse the Mip
Mips … for all of one whole minute! Just enough time for me to get the camera,
take a photo. That was it. Then she got up and sauntered out the door.
Remember how tiny they were the day they were born?
Well, changing bedding is not an easy job at the best
of times. At least, when you’re doing it alone. But with four kittens hopping,
jumping and chasing the corners while you’re trying to fit clean sheets? Well,
it took a while, but I finally managed. So now those are in the machine.
Eventually the Mip Mips go to sleep … until Ziva comes
in, makes a lot of noise, wakes up the Mip Mips, and teases them with a sip
then saunters out the front door again! She exasperates me! I can’t take much
more of this.
I fried myself some fish fingers for dinner and now I
really, really just want to go to bed – but it’s too early. So I’ll hang in
there another couple of hours. Well, now the ‘chance of a shower’ is showering
down. Maybe Ziva will come inside quietly now – oh, wait! She doesn’t mind the
rain! She’ll come in soaking wet and jump straight onto my clean bed. And here
she is. Soaking wet. Sigh.
Still gonna be an early night – just not too early.
