I woke up after eleven last night, when the UPS started crying ... power off! Sorry, but at that time of night, I just turned over.
Ouch! Turning onto my burnt back is still not the best idea. So, I didn't sleep too well ... woke up again twenty to six, turned over. Ouch! Over again. Woke up again twenty to seven. Sigh ...
I still had coffee in the flask, so no problem there. My left foot hurts - the joint just behind the big toe! Looks a bit swollen, as well. What happened there?
As I'm getting dressed for work, power comes on! Phew! Off to work ... traffic seemed to be flowing at first, but then came to a dead stop at the N4 bridge. Cars standing 5 side by side - in a single lane, solid white line section!
Police arrived and turned everyone around. Road closed!
Question: so, now how do I get to work? Can't follow the rest of the cars, they're turning into Honingnestkrans road, probably to take Sphinx road to get onto Lavender. That would be the ones that turn left at the Rosslyn road - I turn right. Ah, well ... find the first tar road turning left. Hope it's not a dead end ... get to a stop, follow the sign to Hebron. End up in Shoshanguve! See a sign R80! Miss the turn to Pretoria. Turn around in the on-ramp to Mabopane. Get onto the R80, turn off Rosslyn!
Killer robot is off! Fortunately traffic police is directing traffic. Get to work an hour late!
Not five minutes later, Takealot call: they're at the gate with my delivery! Nice!
An eventful morning!
The weather has turned again, and it started with a few small hailstones, followed by a shower. Just rain.
Back at home, it's drizzling. I get chores done, feed Smeagol - he's more interested in lovies than food. Then a small break outside, shower, spot-on mippies ... caught them all off guard, except Janey. Still need to catch her!
My left toe is really sore. It looks blue, too. But when I compare it to the right big toe - same colour, but now the left one looks swollen. I wonder what's up with that? I mean, I would remember if I had hit my toe against anything! Well, let's hope it gets better tomorrow.
Load shedding again from ten tonight till midnight ... Sigh ...
