Sunday

It feels kind of weird not having to schedule around load shedding. Isn't it scary how fast we 'accept' a 'new normal'? Although, on the other hand, it shows just how adaptable we are, able to cope with change.

Anyway, I got up - on Mewthos' insistence - around twenty to five. I opened up for him, then went back to bed. And got up again only after eight!

Instead of springing into action, I'm dawdling. Why? My body hasn't recovered from yesterday's hard labour, ha ha!

I am getting older. I won't be able to keep up the level of work I did last year. I'm especially worried about the mowing. I've been thinking, this new sprinkling could actually work in my favour. Where I used to have to either wait for sufficient rain, or plan localised watering - I can now clear anywhere I choose, any time!

Back to today, though. It's now close to ten and I haven't lifted a finger. Yet.

Okay, half past ten, I'm watering my tomatoes, bread dough is on the go and I've cut the sausages roll-length.

Definitely less energy today. Twenty past twelve, I'm not frying little sausages for this week's dinner.

I was considering adding potatoes, celery and carrots to this week's lunch - but I just don't feel up to doing any more. I've made a sauce with the juices from the sausage ... it'll have to be enough for this week. Although I haven't actually done much today, I feel exhausted.

Just past two, and I'm done. Kitchen is clean. I'm just really not in the mood for any work right now. I think I'll try taking a nap ...

It's just too hot for comfort, I'm afraid. I've thought of doing some gardening, as that always makes me feel better ... I don't know. It really IS hot.

I'm glad I still cleared the tall weeds yesterday.

Aaand load shedding is back! Only Stage 2 and only from four to midnight, next three days ... we're currently scheduled ONLY Monday 16:00 - 18:30. Not much of an issue ...

It's half past four now ...

Well, now I've cleaned the corner next to the gate, where those Agapanthus & other common plants are. I only like the Iris in that corner. But it's clean now ...

Mippies are in, treated, I've showered, now I'm ready to settle down for the night ...
