Late last night, one neighbour offered to help! I had only stated 'short distance' - deliberately. So, nobody knew I was talking JUST across the dirt road from one house to the next.
Seems they'll get together and bring it sometime this evening. I told them that I'm home from half six, any time is fine with me.
Mewthos mewled me awake very, very early this morning. He, too, is currently in extreme cuddle mode! Last night he absolutely demanded that I cuddle him. Again, again, more, more! At the same time, Ziva mewled in my ear, kneading the duvet next to me, demanding I cuddle HER! I took up the brush and just brushed ... Mew, Mini, Ziva, Mew, Mini, Ziva ... on and on and on.
I don't know what's up with them, lately. This morning, as I was about to leave, Janey absolutely insisted on some cuddles before I go! Mini tried to stroll onto my back, while I was re-filling their kibbles ... seriously, what's up with them?
I quickly went to get groceries. Milk is on big special, so are fish fingers! Don't ask me where I will keep them - my freezer is already bursting at the seams! The new one, I'll have to clean properly before I can use it. And I still don't know where to put it ...
I also got cheese and meat. I'll get from the new butchery, as well, tomorrow - but I really need something to fry. I took T-bone and rump. Very expensive, I'm afraid.
No cigarettes. No stock. Sigh ...
Now, I'm treating myself to a break before I dive into the next dead-line task.
Back at home ... no internet. Try as I might, the router just wouldn't stay on - kept switching itself off. Sigh ...
That made co-ordinating the transport of the freezer somewhat difficult. Fortunately, my ever-helpful 'new' neighbour had got involved and he organised everything. Of course, first thing I knew, was when they were hooting outside my gate!
The freezer is really quite big, and clearly works - it's still frozen inside! But filthy! I'm going to have to put a LOT of time and effort into cleaning the inside, before I want to use it.
I was just settling down for the night, when the neighbour who's vehicle was used, called and invited me to a potjie tomorrow afternoon! A potjie is when you heat a large cast-iron pot over an open fire and add all sorts - meat, vegies, you name it. I accepted quite happily! Not so much for the food, mostly to get more involved in our neighbourhood community!
Well ... that's Thursday done and dusted ...
