Although I slept well, I got up a tad late. Well, if you want to call half seven on a Saturday late, that is. I do.
I made my first pot of coffee and then put the first load of laundry in the machine, and turned the geyser on. Load shedding from 08:00 - 10:30 this morning. And I have three loads of laundry to do! I should probably have washed the duvet first, as that's going to take the longest time to dry ... ah, well.
Now making my second pot of coffee ... normally I only do that IF I want more. But since I have the thermos, it's not a problem!
Power off at eight, laundry goes up on the line ...
I decided to watch King Charles III address to the nation, and then watched a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II - like many people, I was surprised at how emotional I feel over her death. I was surprised to find tears welling up ...
Aaaand load shedding escalates to Stage 4! Announced until Monday morning 05:00, so tomorrow power off three times!
00:00 - 02:30 & 08:00 - 10:30 & 16:00 - 18:30! So ... audio book off the phone tonight, and I can only start baking and cooking after ten! Grrrr ...
I see there's a community meeting this afternoon at two ... just up the road, same place I went last time. I'm thinking of attending ... I'm not going to, though.
Three power outages scheduled tomorrow - I'm already in a tizz again - and a foul mood to boot!
I've tried hard to shake that foul mood ... without success. I did, however, figure out why: work!
I tried very hard to push it out of my mind. Without success. I spent most of the afternoon popping poppy seed pods ... when they're dry, you pull off the tip and they pop open. The aim is to get the seeds into a container. Quite often they pop on their own - and my whole desk is already covered in seeds which popped during the week! You can't put them in a closed container - they'd just rot in there. I now have a huge hoard of poppy seeds, though! With more still on the bushes outside ...
Well, second load shedding is over, I made dinner ... I'll have to turn off the PC before I go to sleep tonight, next load shedding is from midnight till two. Then again from eight to ten.
