First thing this morning I find notification that load shedding is pushed to Stage 6! We've just had 2 hours from 4-6, we're off again from 12:00 - 16:30 and again 20:00 - 00:00!
Just past eight, bread dough is on the go and the towels are in the machine. Well, I started the laundry very early - even before I found out we're at Stage 6 now.
Just going on eleven and I'm done. Stew is on the go, oven is heating up, kitchen is clean, laundry will be ready ....
One problem: the flour for the bread rolls is a bit past it's best-before date ... the dough was not very nice, and didn't rise a second time. Sigh ... nothing I can do today.
Ten to twelve ... ready for another four hours without electricity ... Sigh ...
I considered gardening, but it's quite hot outside. I started by deep cleaning the waste bin again. And then I felt up to tackling cleaning up some of my water damaged games. I had to wipe every single Mah Jongg tile! One deck of cards was beyond saving. Strictly speaking, so is the deck of cards I inherited from my grandma ... I did, however, clean up the box and I'm keeping the deck. Even though it's all stuck together!
It's one of those really shit jobs you have got to do when you actually feel like it. No use trying otherwise ...
Stew is awesome! Pork shanks with potato and Sauerkraut!
That's the view from my veranda today. See the bright mauve patch under the ponytail? And you can even see the plum tree is covered in fresh leaves!
Well, Eskom still hasn't announced what's happening tomorrow - most likely continuing Stage 6 - which would mean power off 04:00 - 06:30 ... hopefully back just after six. Which would mean that I can make coffee tomorrow morning. BUT: If it's Stage 7 ... power will be off till 08:30 ...
I'm going to take my chances and hope to make coffee tomorrow morning. I've bathed, packed lunch, done everything ... half an hour until lights out! Again! Sigh ...
