Lock-down Day 276

Surprisingly good night - considering that I couldn't shower. Yes, I 'washed' myself as best I could - but all wipes do contain alcohol. So, I basically end up covering myself in a layer of alcohol ... which is not really a good thing for an alcoholic. The same goes for all those hand sprays and squirts we are now forced to accept if we wish to enter any public place. I'm very fortunate, that I can tolerate that - not all alcoholics are so lucky.

Mewthos is somewhat moody today, he comes for attention - but not in the bedroom? Like Janey, he comes to me in the bathroom! Right now he's curled up in my laundry basket! And Ziva just came out of the closet ... again!

I've swept the place, so it at least looks a lot cleaner. I don't feel like gardening today - I'm still hoping for some of that rain they promised! It's hot, cloudy, did I mention hot? Unpleasant. Oh, and humid, of course.

I've done a little re-arranging inside, making space for some unpacking I'd like to do ... if I can find the energy. Really not happy today. I've tried re-scheduling the delivery again, as it's such a waste to have to wait until it's packed on the delivery truck - but I can't. Seriously, this isn't logical, nor economic, but hey: it's how things are done. Sigh ...

Anyway, I've unpacked two boxes. Not much, I know, but something. I'm just really feeling icky - I wanna shower! Sigh ... I'm now making my chicken flatty. I'm spending most of today just on the bed, watching 'Boston Legal', but mostly under a strong ceiling fan! It's 34 degrees Celsius - in the shade! And humid. Because that rain is still hanging around, teasing. According to the weather report, today's highest temperature is 31 - yet, in fact, it's 34.

Well, that chicken was absolutely delicious - although mippies don't agree.

I let mippies enjoy outies till about seven - truth be told, they spent their time on the veranda anyway! I joined them for some quality family time, then led them inside for their treat.

Funny thing: I brought a bucket of water into the bedroom, as I was doing some cleaning. It's almost empty - the level too low for mippies to reach, yet: each and every one of them tried! Mewthos, of course, was about to topple it - so I've now put it back in the laundry room.

I've lugged a 20 liter container of water from the garage to the toilet ... used up half to flush. Then lugged 10 liters back to the garage - only to lug it back to the toilet later, of course. I really, really want running water! Sigh. Electricity & running water - two things one doesn't want to have to do without!

Not a good day, which is to be expected. Let's hope I have running water by tomorrow evening!
