Lock-down Day 250

Uneventful night, normal morning, one minute late for work.

I called - AGAIN - about the gate! I'm getting concerned about my safety - the longer that gate is wide open every day, the higher the risk that somebody takes a chance and walks in! With the walls, they have all the freedom to move around unobserved - and would just have to wait for me to get home and open up for them. I was promised that the electrician would come out today and that it would be fixed today.

Ditto my PC. Promised to have an answer by the end of today.

No comment. Actions speak louder than words.

Coming up for five, it's overcast and a storm is brewing. Uh uh! I'll probably have no power again at home! Sigh!

Well, no answer on my PC. On the way home, I'm driving through torrents of rain interspersed with dry spells. There are two rainbows in the sky ahead of me, the first one is almost solid! I can clearly see the purple end. The second one is faint, but the colours going in the opposite direction. I mean the first one left to right (or bottom to top) is: purple, green, yellow, red and the second one red, yellow, green. The purple is more a hint than visible.

I get home and ... No power! Sigh! Also, nothing done to the gate. Sigh.

First thing I do is clean the litter boxes, while I still have some daylight to see. Then out into the garden! I need to be careful not to work too hard, physically, as I may not be able to shower tonight, so I carry on in the box at the back, digging up creeper roots and pulling off dead aloe leaves. Then it starts to rain and I rush inside.

Mippies were all inside already, waiting for me to come to my senses, ha ha! Fortunately dinner is left-overs from yesterday, which can be eaten cold.

I spent the rest of the evening sitting in my arm chair, mulling over things. Planning what I'll do in the garden tomorrow night ... the lawn really looks bad. I try to cheer myself up by looking at photos of what the garden was like before - but they show the lawn looking much better maintained than it is now! Okay, that was before the rain season - still ... that lawn is an eyesore! I decide to leave the creepers for now, and first get that lawn mowed! It's also rather a nuisance wading through wet grass to the gate motor every day, so ... it will be tough going now, as I've let it grow rather too tall. But once I've worked it down, I just need to maintain it - and that's just a walk in the park. Almost literally, as all I need to do is walk up and down with the mower.

Okay, so the lawn in my first goal, now. Hmm, a wheelbarrow would be really handy! Only ... how do I transport a wheelbarrow home? I doubt it will fit in my car?

Funny how it's always the people who's actions earn no respect - who insist they deserve to be treated like a higher power, isn't it?

I pulled my mind back into my garden, as the contemplation of male chauvinism is utterly futile! That lawn is really bothering me now, so ... well, I'm itching to go out now and get started! Ha Ha, it's dark now, so that would be just as futile as ...

I tried going to sleep - no luck. Back up, smoke, contemplate, try again. Back up ... repeat until just after ten when the power comes back on! Put on Dr Who, try sleeping ... back up. Until well past midnight, I'm afraid ...
