Considering the late night, I woke surprisingly early! Got up, had coffee. Cleaned the litter boxes. Had another coffee ... made sure I took my phone to work today (I had forgotten it yesterday) and went to work.
Very early, quarter past six! Ha Ha, no wonder there was so little traffic! Well, as we're approaching year end, the traffic will get less and less, then start again mid January.
Phoned about my gate: Today, for sure! Hmm ...
Quickly went to Spar to buy some meat and milk. And, of course, my obligatory chocolate, ha ha!
Okay, power supply for my PC has been ordered and paid - should arrive this week. Once it's installed (hopefully THAT was the cause!) he'll check my CPU to order compatible RAM, to make it go faster! Ha Ha!
Well, they added extra RAM to my work PC - which hasn't sped up the start-up so much, but with my habit of keeping everything I'm working on open at the same time, I have noticed a difference.
By the way I'm feeling early this afternoon, I don't think I'll have much energy for gardening tonight! I attribute my lack of sleep to the coffee I drank yesterday evening. I've been 'hiding' my unfinished morning coffee from the flies in the cupboard - and last night I remembered, and drank it! Yeah, old age is no longer just creeping up on me, it's clawing and clambering its way into my life!
I got home, gate STILL on manual! Sigh!
I got out the mower and got busy! I'm quite impressed with myself, I managed to mow a much larger portion than I thought I could! Okay, there were some tough patches - it's different grass types in different places. The front is predominantly akin to (or probably is) Kikuyu. It's hardy, but it has more runners than it has leaves, and they are thick and hard. But mowing that is only a challenge, when it's too long - because these runners (almost like twigs) just lay flat under the mower, then pop up when you've passed.
But the nicer type of grass is what was tough to mow - because it's dense, and I've let it get too long. It also lays down under the mower, so you have to come at it from different sides - over and over again - until it is all cut. And then it's a yellow patch, ha ha! Because near the ground, the plant hasn't been getting sunlight, so it wilts.
Well, I managed to mow the entire driveway and from there all the way up to the fence! What is left in that portion of the garden now, needs weeding, not mowing. I did pull out a lot of tall weeds as well - I tried to pull them out before I mowed, so they hopefully won't grow back stronger.
Mewthos spent some time on my back, when I happened to be weeding rather than mowing! My little cuddle muffin!
I think I'll have to re-do the last patch I mowed, as it was already getting dark, and I couldn't see too well. But I was determined to give it the once-over, rather than leave a lost little mohawk in a clear lawn!
Inside, I just relaxed. Mippies are quite at ease, flopping around, no trouble and not restless. Well, relaxed after I'd showered, of course! I finished the last of my meal - tomorrow night I'll be frying steak again. Ziva will be happy - she came to sniff my food half a dozen times, just couldn't believe there was no meat in my food! None! Really! Ha Ha!
