I hear the president addressed the nation again last night - I couldn't watch, as I still don't have my PC back = no internet. I just checked the news, and seems he's a bit pissy going after 'Covid-19 law breakers' ... sheez! That just means he's turning our police into a terror organisation! Oh, and he's declared certain 'hot spots' who are going under stricter regulations again. No jolly Christmas for them! Sigh ...
I'm feeling peckish, but don't want to drive with the bakkie ... I thought to order something for delivery, but options are severely limited in this area. Oh, and they all only open at 10, so ... bleh!
Just got my PC back! Yay! At least one issue over! I'll finally be able to watch my new DVDs! AND I'll be able to write my blog over the weekend! Whoopee!
More good news: I just got a call that apparently my gate is working again! The manager said, he'll just send one of the guys to double-check - but another Whoopee! Now, all I need is my car back, and everything is back in place!
Okay, it's past ten and I've given in! I've ordered Fast Food! First time in years, ha ha! Well, I went all out and ordered the biggest pizza they offer! Okay, so only double layer, not three, but I did pick the one with a ring of cheese grillers in the outer crust!
Sigh, ETA of my pizza was half an hour ago ... ah, well! Looks like it will be just in time for lunch. Good enough!
As I was mowing the lawn last night, I was thinking: Some people probably think I'm weird for mowing the lawn on a week night. Well, those are usually the same people who will pay one person to spend an hour after work taking their body through similar motions, and then pay a second person to get the same results! I mean, they'll pay Gym membership, to walk on a treadmill for an hour, and then pay a gardener to mow the lawn. So on the whole, I don't think I'm the one who's crazy! Weird, agreed, but perfectly logical! Ha Ha!
While I was waiting for the pizza guy, I thought about my next move in the garden. This afternoon, I think I should start by re-mowing the patch out back and then re-mowing the portion out front - the part I haven't touched this week. Then pull out the clover field and carry on mowing the front lawn. When that is done, I should start mowing the fenced off gardens, starting with the one visible from out front. And when I finally finished the whole garden - tall weeds should be my next project.
I think after that the herb garden? So that I can plant that poor Rosemary? Then comes the pavement. That'll greatly reduce the square meters to mow, too! And rain has softened the ground, so I should be able to pull out more roots - meaning it will take a lot longer before I have to go over the same pavement again.
Right, pizza is here! Just in time for lunch - ten to! Ha ha! I didn't ask, but the driver said he had called his boss, as he got held up at the previous delivery ... no worries! I never knew you could actually track the delivery guy online! Literally! Weird that that isn't considered weird! And it does beg the question: why is the guy ALWAYS left outside the gate, having to phone someone to open up for him, when it's for the office staff?
Anyway, now I'm experiencing the 'maagie vol, oogies toe' syndrome! You know, once your tummy is full, your eyes close to take a digestive nap? Yeah, only ... still at work, so I had better keep my eyes open!
It doesn't look like I'll have my car back today. Ah, well! No worries! I'll just pack my pizza, and my PC ... and I don't think I'll be gardening this afternoon. I think I'll just connect my PC, set up my new DVD and take a nap watching that! Yeah, I'm an old woman! No surprise there, eh?
Bit of a hiccup at home: now that the gate is supposed to be working again, my remote seems to have packed up! There's a little light on it, that normally comes on whenever you press a button ... it's not coming on! I called, and the manager called around, but there's nobody nearby who can get over the wall and open up for me!
Well, good thing I'm still stuck with the bakkie! I reversed it up to the fence corner post, got on the back and from there I was able to climb over! In German we'd say "Selbst ist die Frau!" Ha Ha! Something like 'women doing it for themselves'.
If you think I was tired before that, imagine how I feel now! As if the last sap of energy has been drained out of me. So, I've now set up the PC and ... I'M BAAAACK! Now watching the first episode of Rosemary & Thyme! Ready to take my nap now ...
Ah! I thought so! With my PC back online, I'm able to check my mails and I see a mail from Takealot. They had to cancel one item, as it was no longer available - another DVD. I thought I had ordered it and wondered, when it wasn't in the delivery I assumed that I had decided not to spend the money ... but I was pretty sure I hadn't? So now I know! I was right, he he! Not my memory going completely ... yet!
Mippies come in without any trouble. And they mostly stay inside my garden, too. They often even don't go out, but sit at, what I call their TV: at the front door, looking through the gate!
Eight o'clock, time to make it official. I've been relaxing all afternoon, might as well go to sleep now ...
