Sunshine Garden

Still no kittens and still no full night’s sleep. The weather looks promising though, with patches of sunshine despite the clouds. First do my chores, laundry, dishes, etc. and then out into the garden.

Silver went out earlier and stayed away for hours. My neighbour joined me in the garden with her knitting. I worked my way alongside the path weeding and particularly claiming back the path from the weeds. At least the one half of it I can reach sitting on the grass. With all the rain yesterday, the grass is still wet so I placed a bag on the grass and sat on top of it. I finally got all the way to the garage, but only because I restricted myself to a quite narrow stretch.

All in all a lovely and productive day. Just one dark spot. When my neighbour joined me, so did her tomcat. And when Silver finally showed up he went after her, got hold of her and the two tumbled along the path until Silver got away and they both ran at speed out the garden. So, now I know who’s opening her neck piece by piece! But what can we do anyway, they’re cats. The neighbour’s tom was here first, and he’s never taken to Silver. I also suspect that Silver going after the neighbour’s old female cat spurred his protective instinct. Well, Silver stayed away until some time after my neighbour – and her tom – had gone.

I also went inside soon afterwards. Hot meal, hot bath, hot blog? Nah, just the photos I’ve been taking all week!
Tiny but stunning!

More opening up daily!

I had to trick the camera to focus on this tiny bloom!

Still working on blooming

And open! Isn't she beautiful?

And the second one is open, too!

Still one blue Iris in bloom!

Yellow Iris in bloom!

These bloom wild on the lawn

Rockery also in bloom!

Cactus blooming like crazy!

So much for the 'Melons' - either cucumber or zucchini :)

They are finally, finally beginning to open!

What vivid colour!

And look at that mixed colour!

Pea starting to bloom!

FOOD! NOW! That's your purpose! :D

Haven't seen these in bloom all week,
since they close every night!

This should be an Iris or a Daffodil - doesn't look like either, though

Still only working on blooming

This is blooming next to the Gazania

They've also been blooming all week -
only I don't get to see that :(

Vivid red! Quite striking!

See how the path looks on the left
vs on the right?
