New day - new blossoms

Silver seems to have decided to investigate this whole bathing thing I do in the evenings. Normally she’ll pop in, get bored and leaves. Tonight, however, she stayed around, sat on the mat looking up. Then suddenly she jumped onto the rim! Having had a cat-in-the-bath experience once – the memory stays! – I instantly warned her off and she jumped down. Then came to sit at the head end and started the nonchalant-washing-myself ritual. So I cupped some water in my palm and let it run down so she could see. She did. Turned and ran out. But then she came back! Sat under the towel rack and watched. Every. Move. Afterwards she sat on the box behind me and washed herself. Maybe she was trying to show me a better way to clean oneself?! Lesson finished and she went outside. What a strange cat! Of course she left rather late – now I want to go to bed … sigh!

I struggled to fall asleep, so after an hour I opened the front door – and Silver came running inside! Intensive cuddle time, and I sleep. She? I doubt it. Six o’clock I get up, open the front door – Silver goes out. As I leave for work, she comes back in ... but this time I persuade her to come back outside. I’ve no clue how she got out yesterday, but it must have involved quite a jump – no need to risk that again.

Work is better today, with the site manager back to sort out the Ego’s. Mr Pressure also apologised – eventually. First he tried the ‘women are moody’ tack – but it didn’t stick. Mr Underpants-are-headwear also tried to establish that I must carry out his orders – and again, it didn’t stick. He’s butting his head against a lot of walls today – I wonder if the underpants are padded? Well, since he’s not wearing them today, that’s a moot point.

I received an e-mail from the Estate Agency, addressed ‘Dear Tenant’ (so I guess it’s a circular going to ALL their tenants) that they’re changing over to a new system, and would appreciate if I fill in my banking details in the table in her mail ... since there is nowhere any statement that any effort is made to ensure the security of confidential information sent via e-mail ... well, except a disclaimer how they take no responsibility ... yeah. With a subject heading “Confirmation – banking details – Tenants” just how long will it take before the gathered data will hit the dark net?

Oh, and I’ve heard nothing re the ‘Inspection’ nor about my spare keys!

Bit of a grumble after I spent half an hour walking round and round the factory looking for a specific line – I have a suspicion it’s up on the mezzanine, but it’s not marked – I finally find someone from our site, Mr Pressure! So I ask him where it is … and his reply? “Oh! Yeah, don’t bother with that line.” Half an hour I plodded around on aching feet from the safety boots! Thank you very much!

Back home my neighbour shows me her beautiful Begonia’s in full bloom! One flower fell off, so I got to take it home to photograph. I suggested she take a tour through my garden during the day, when it’s warm, since there’s quite a lot happening. Or she can look at the photos right here, too, from the comfort of her living room. I took another lot of photos before it got too dark.
I just love these!

The Iris' don't seem too
happy in this location,
they're very short

Finally got the camera to focus on the Iris!

The first flower opened today! Taken from above

They are tiny, but so exquisite! Like a mini-Orchid

Coming along nicely!

The second blossom about to open!

Still some Iris' in full glory!

Bright pink in between the white Alyssum

The flower on the right is the only one with four petal! All the others have five!

Same flower, different bunch. And all with five petals!

This is a normal Nasturtium stem.

This is the one I spent an hour trying to un-knot last night

First yellow Iris in the garden!

These are in the vegetable patch - the brightest,
reddest Nasturtiums of all!

A bit blurry, but the colour! What vivid red!

Look at the detail, each petal it's own design, fitting together
what variety in just one flower!

Spring has definitely inspired the Nasturtium patch!
Orange on the left (front of the pic), yellow on the right (back)

It's not really very big - but isn't this such colourful joy?
And look at my Melon plant growing in the tomato bed at the back!

These have been taxing my patience,
just sprouting more and more leaves
But I think they are FINALLY ready to show me what they've got!

Look! It's a bud!

These just haven't stopped flowering all year round!

I had transplanted these from the planter when I started this patch,
they got mowed down, but that didn't deter them.

And here's the first bud!

These intrigue me.
I wonder what they are?

My neighbour showed me her potted Begonia's
One flower came off, so she gave it to me
so I could take a photo! Lovely, isn't it?

Spent some time cuddling with Silver, after which she went outside. I played a bit online, then went to the kitchen to do the dishes … turn around … looking straight into Silver’s upturned hopeful gaze! She’s not impressed with this non-food-producing activity. It’s just not right. So she goes and curls up on her chair. At one point I see her perking up, looking at the door … I poke my head through the opening to see Dark Silver inside, eating. He (or she) sees me and stretches his neck to get a proper glare off in my direction! Who are you and why are you interrupting my dinner? Well, I stay in the kitchen as long as I can, let him/her have his/her fill – when I come out, the cat runs outside. Gives me another glare and runs off.

Thrilling life I lead, isn’t it? Work, cat, garden, food. And yet, I’m happy! Maybe not ecstatically so, but singing-to-myself happy. No hole-in-the-soul, no if-only nor any I-wish’s. Simply living in the now, not letting my mind time-travel – staying out of the past where I might stumble over regrets and keeping away from the future dragging my soul into fears.

Life is good!
