Another
beautiful, sunny day which drove me out into the garden. I forget whether it
was Saturday or Sunday, but my neighbour had some more succulents to plant in
our rockery – it is looking lovely! All the plants are doing well, promising a
full carpet of flowers very soon!
 |
| Marigold playing peek-a-boo |
 |
| These open in the sun and close every night |
 |
| Aren't the Daffodils adorable? |
 |
| Nasturtiums blooming everywhere ... |
 |
| ... and in all colours! |
 |
| Alströmeira, next bunch! How could anyone walk past without a second glance? |
 |
| Fuchsia in full flower - again! |
 |
| Another Iris in my window! |
 |
| Such pale pink, it barely shows in the photo |
 |
| And look what's blooming in the middle of the lawn! |
 |
| Nasturtium, Alyssum, Carnation, Iris, Daisies and Daffodils! |
The cactus,
as I said already, is also covered in little red knobbly things, each promising
to become a flower!
The
Carnation is open and smells lovely!
The Iris has
also opened and the deep blue with the bright yellow is absolutely dazzling!
I spent most
of the day removing those big patchy weeds covering and killing what grass may
try to survive. Our gardener will not be happy, he’d rather have those really
big patchy weeds on the other side removed. On ‘my’ side, the weeds are in
patches amongst the grass. On the other side, there is no grass left between
the weeds. For the sake of the garden, he’s quite right. For the sake of my
sanity – I’ll take care of my ‘little patch’.
Although I
worked for hours, I still didn’t finish! The tricky part is when they are all
clustered together, to try and get a grip of an individual weed so you can pull
it out with the whole root! I’m afraid quite a lot of roots got left behind.
When the sun went down, I watered everything and
went inside. And got obsessively involved in the Adventure currently running in
my online game. I did a load of washing – but didn’t get around to hanging it
up. I didn’t make time for the dishes, either. Tomorrow night.
