As I’m
getting ready to go to bed, Silver insists she wants to go out. Now. Ok, off
you go then. I decide to wait a bit, and while I’m waiting her brother (we
think he’s her brother, since he has the same kind of markings just darker
brown and not silver) comes inside and starts eating. When he’s full, just like
Silver did weeks ago, he decides to check out my flat. Inspection done, he
leaves. Still no Silver. So I decide to go to bed.
I woke up at
three – call of nature – so, while I’m up anyway, I open the door and call.
Silver comes running and meowing inside! Sleep. Attention. Sleep. Attention.
Sleep. Somewhere in all these half-awake cycles I must have rolled onto my
back, because the next time I wake up courtesy of a cat, a pregnant cat at
that, sitting spot on top of my bladder! By now I’ve overslept again, so rush
through the morning routine and off to work. Cat is happy on the chair. Not
falling for the open-door trick, thank you very much! So I left her inside.
At work I’m
still playing catch-up with the backlog. Some writings re Admin are taking
shape in my head. I’ll follow the same pattern as I did with the blog: First a
basic word document, see how it goes, what shape it takes, then decide on an
online format. A website could be structured and indexed – allowing simple
two-click to what you need. But blogs are searchable, too. I’d just have to
label meticulously. Let’s first get something written, though!
I posted a
lot of the June / July blog photos on Facebook – which got a lot of likes and
comments in quite a short time. I thought of doing the same for August but
decided bugger that. Follow my blog or miss out. He He.
I didn’t
make lunch to take to work today, so I went to the canteen here – I eventually
settled on a potato salad, which seemed safe. And a chocolate. And a 1l Coke. Now
I’m so tired, I could just lie down and sleep! Some of the guys do take a
lunch-time nap. I’ve done that myself in the past. Today, though, I’m beyond power-nap tired. Ah
well, back to work.
Back home
the gardener spent the day clearing the other side of the path. As always, it
doesn’t look like much has been done but I know first-hand just how much work
goes into how little show. It was such a nice day, I went into the garden and
did some more weeding until it got too cold. Of course before anything, I let
Silver out. She was a bit hesitant to leave and stayed around me … until I
opened a tin of her preferred brand down for her. Then she ate and went off.
Now she’s back and I closed the door on her. I’m not having another
waiting-up-late for Miss Queen night.
Better make
some lunch for work tomorrow. Don’t want to have to go to the canteen again.
