I struggled to go to sleep, so around eleven I picked
up my sleeping kitties for cuddles. Lady Jane enjoyed it the most, Mewthos
liked it, too, but Ziva struggled free after a short time. I placed them all on
right next to each other – Mewthos started cleaning Ziva, Lady Jane started
cleaning Mewthos and a whole lick-fest ensued! The only time Ziva growled at
Mewthos, as far as I could see (in the dark and without my glasses) was when
Mewthos tried to nurse!
I seem to have had a bad night, nonetheless, since I
only woke up around nine! I opened the door so my cats could go out – but they
are sticking around me, like Velcro. Romeo also came for his breakfast – but then
he made a swipe at Mewthos and had to leave. Since going back to bed seems out
of the question, I got dressed. Sigh. Now I’m having breakfast.
I’m feeling just ‘meh’ today. No energy, no interest –
I just want to sleep. I tried napping, but I can’t sleep either. I’ve tried Orange
juice, fruit salad, coffee (of course!) but I just have no energy. It’s not
heat, this time, though – it’s only 25°C today. Although it was quite hot in
the sun this morning, it’s rather cool this afternoon.
I tried some gardening. I worked on the rockery, near
the cactus. It’s completely covered with Tecoma seeking sunlight and air, those
horrible thorns and grass! The grass hasn’t been cut in a long, long time – I had
to trim it with pruning clippers! Mewthos watched my every move and inspected
the pile of off-cuts grow. I found it rather frustrating to see how not one
leaf of those branches had been touched by a weed eater, they are covering
almost a foot of the lawn! Yet my flowers and plants get shredded if they put
just one leaf outside the bed!
The dog from Rose’s neighbours got out today, Rose
found her wandering in the street, so she brought her into her inner garden
until her neighbour comes home to collect her. My Mips are not impressed! Ziva
came to call me to show me this outrage – and she was even more outraged, when
I went to pet the dog! I’m a sore disappointment to my Mips!
We all settled down for a while, and when the Mips all
seemed asleep, I thought I could sneak down and chat with Rose. Sigh – silly of
me! They followed me down and were disgusted to see that I was next door! Lady
Jane settled herself on the table to supervise my visit, while Mewthos got up
on his hind legs and stood like a Meerkat! The looks on their faces when the
doggie rolled on her back so I could scratch her tummy – and did? Priceless!
And then I had the audacity to reach out with my doggie rubbing hand to pet
them? It was just too funny!
Since I was home all day, Ziva stayed nearby all day
as well, and by six all three were napping indoors, so I closed the door. She
did swipe and hiss at Lady Jane and Mewthos earlier, and now she’s sulking on
my bed. Mewthos is napping on the chair next to me and Lady Jane on the other
chair.
