Me: Yeh!, Work: Meh

I woke up nice and early – when one of the kitties tried to play on my laptop! Since I’ve re-arranged the bedroom, they have claimed the chest of drawers as ‘their territory’; it used to be ‘no cats’. Ziva is no problem, but the Mips? They just do as they please, little monsters!

I watched Mewthos lie down in front of Ziva, and when she started cleaning his head for him, he sneakily inched forward and tried to nurse! Seriously! Ziva stalked off in disgust. It is really strange to watch, he’s the biggest and oldest of the litter – but he’s still so much baby! He’s still the cry-baby he’s always been, and he stays as close to me as he possibly can – often getting under my feet!

I had to distract them with a sachet again, so I could go out to work.

At work I had a mail from a large international company, saying how we can go forward with the collection and I must please tell him how I want to proceed. Sounds reasonable, until you read a bit further to the mail from me, which got the process started, where I’m specifically stating my requirements (i.e. how to proceed) and asking how they fit into theirs. So – no progress in seven days!

Next, I get a list of instructions from the security of these premises – I can’t make head nor tail of it. I want to have a container with contents collected.

Hi.
Please ensure that the following happened from Security point.
1)      Date and time the Container will be loaded.
2)      Security to observe the loading process from the Start.
3)      If the Container loading are done,Security could seal the Container and we will enter the Container Number with the seal number in the South gate Occurrence Control Register, for Security Reasons.
4)      The date off Collection are not so impartment, but that’s very impartment the day of collection for security presence to check the loading of the Container and to correspond the seal number again.
5)      If the Container contents been loaded without Security precense, the Container will be off loaded and load again.
6)      As per point 5,if been loaded onto the truck without Security, again the Container will be off loaded from the truck and loaded on to the truck with Security presence.
7)      The Container Driver must be informed to pull before loading onto the Weigh Bridge and after the loading process only the day that the Container will be collect.
8)      If the Container did not weigh in it also will be off loaded to be weigh in empty.
9)      Very, Very impartment the Container must been weigh in empty and out after the loading proses are done..
10)   Security needs an countable (company) document Goods Material Pass with back document stated all the contents been loaded into the Container.

Does anyone know what impartment is? I think I’ll do what my counterpart in Pretoria does: delegate it J ha ha! Yeah, I can’t get away with that! Fortunately, I’ve been through a similar process before, so, despite the gibberish used above, I have some idea what to do.

Back at home, our gardener is quite disgusted with the mess that garden disservice left! He was kind enough to rake it all up. He also cleared a large part of the rockery –unfortunately, he also sawed off the stark branches from that fallen over tree, which the cats all used to love climbing along. Well, they still have their tree, and the place looks a lot better! He also cleaned out a lot of the dead leaves from the Aloes around that trunk – he’s really aired the place out a lot! There won’t be a disappointment in the aloe flowers this time! They now have plenty of sunlight to bloom!

I led the Mippies downstairs and into the garden, but they are still wary of strangers, and to them our gardener is a stranger. I stayed downstairs, and they did run around a bit while I pulled a couple of weeds here and there. But eventually they went upstairs looking down from the wall, waiting until our gardener left. It was a cool day, overcast though without rain, too cold to stay out. I got busy upstairs, packing my lunch, cooking dinner, folding the laundry – and getting very, very upset when Lady Jane climbed into my wardrobe and immediately put her claws into my sole dress!

My rear barely touched the chair for a well-earned rest when I heard Ziva calling to be let in! I opened the door, and instead of coming in, she started playing with some prey (a gecko or grasshopper, I didn’t see) so I grabbed her and pulled her in, before either Mip got out! She was not happy with me. She hissed and pawed at each Mip in turn and generally showed her unhappiness. Shame, poor Ziva. So I tried giving her wet food – she turned her nose up. I tried one of the expensive treats she liked – now she’s turning her nose up at them. Ai, ai. Eventually I dosed her with catnip – and had to give Mewthos and Lady Jane each a dose as well. They really don’t share their nippies!

I’ve spent some time with them, but they are no longer keen on playing the same games we played when they were younger. And they still don’t share toys nor me. I’m not trying to make them share, but it would make life easier for me. At least they’ll share the chair to sleep – some of the time. We’re back in the same formation as the last couple of evenings: Mewthos on the chair, Lady Jane on the box and Ziva on the bed in the bedroom.
I’ll give them another sachet of jelly before I go to sleep – hopefully it will keep them in nap-mode. Last night they activated when I went to bed – like little zooming energizer bunnies, hopping and running around the flat.
