SoD Day 55, withdrawn today! LS 4 3 4 Wednesday

I had such a laugh when I arrived at home! All four of my huge, fat mippies were cowering near the front door ... with tiny Lady Sybill peeking around the corner from the kitchen!

She really is a lady, in the non-diva sense of the word. She's so gentle - I was planning on checking whether she even has claws, at one stage! Mippies had razor mittens at that age! And she doesn't push herself forward, she just gently nudges for lovies ... and it puzzles her that those big furry blobs keep growling and hissing at her. She is always under my feet - same as Mini, yet without any demand. Just a look ... and she absolutely loves to play!

I showered, heated myself dinner, ate ... had just settled on the bed, turned off the light, ready to play with Lady Sybill when load shedding started. Good timing!

I slept through the night, so I woke up bright and early. Coffee! Mippies breakfast - which I'm now dividing into 5 portions! Funny thing, Mewthos and Ziva mostly just lap up the gravy, leaving the meat behind. Then Mewthos gets huffy, when Sybill comes up to the counter and enjoys the meat ... which he left behind, ha ha! She's not yet spoiled.

Feed the ferals, off to work.

I'm wondering whether I should follow up on the fruit juice delivery ... before I get around to it, though, I get a message that the delivery is on its way.

I was just having a smoke, minding my own business, when this popped into my head:

Just had a mental cross-over:
I'm re-watching Lord of the Rings. The Two Towers. You know that scene near the end, where Samwise shares his insight as to what keeps hero's going in stories, then Frodo asks 'What about us?' and this popped into my head: 'CATS. CATS ARE NICE!'

I posted that in the Terry Pratchett Group. There's a scene in one of the Discworld books, where a wizard laments the meaning of life, asking Death what's good in life - and that's Death's response. Yes, on the Discworld, Death is a character. He always talks IN CAPS.

Aaand some good news:

BREAKING NEWS: The state is withdrawing the national state of disaster in response to OUTA’s legal action challenging its rationality. OUTA was formally notified of the withdrawal in the State Attorney’s written response on Wednesday (5 April) as part of OUTA’s legal action to review and overturn the decisions to declare the state of disaster. The State Attorney has offered to pay OUTA’s wasted court costs in the case.
This is another big win for civil society!

About time! It never made sense. Firstly, this is a directed disaster - nothing unexplained, unexpected or unforeseen about it. Secondly, you can't have it both ways: either State of Disaster OR Minister of Electricity. Which still boggles the mind ... Minister of Electricity. WTF? Next we get a Minister of Road Surfaces to eliminate pot holes? Yeah ... moving on ...

Fruit juice arrived same time we were loading my car for the delivery. I'll see tonight whether the extra bottles have finally made it!

I'm writing a shopping list for tomorrow. I want to get some more eggs - in case I feel like making pasta. I definitely want chicken hearts for the ferals. And I definitely want another roast. I'm also thinking of getting more potatoes - this time, put them through the Rösti maker before I freeze them (take up less space).

I stumbled across a video showing Rösti Recipe's ... I might want to try that over the long weekend.

I'm not making any plans, nor setting any targets or goals. Just opening options ... I might like to sit with my seed collection, or go out into the garden ... whatever. Only goal is to get to the vet Saturday morning and learn about Sybill's condition.

Well, twenty to five ... load shedding tonight from six to eight. Yuk! Worst time!

Oh nice! Load shedding staying at Stage 4 until Friday morning 05:00, when it supposedly drops to Stage 1. Then Stage 2 overnight, alternating Stage 1 and 3 over the weekend, no load shedding Monday during the day, then Stage 3 again ... Subject to rapid change! Ha Ha Ha!

So, tomorrow same as today: 3 x 2 hours load shedding. 02:00 - 04:20, 10:00 - 12:30 & 18:00 - 20:30.

Lets hope it doesn't get worse ...
