LS 6 Friday

Yup! Back to Stage 6 all day! We were supposed to go to Stage 5 at five this morning ... more breakdowns, and at six Eskom informed us WHY our power stayed off until six! By that time, loads of people had already reported the power outage ...

Sybil went outside last night and didn't want to come back inside. I had quite a time trying to catch her! The big ones didn't give me much trouble after that, fortunately! At least it's Friday today, so she'll be able to play with her brother and cousins for some time this afternoon!

No, I didn't cook last night. I wasn't particularly hungry ... and didn't feel up to it, either. I just flopped around from chair to bed to chair.

Surprisingly, I had internet at home last night, so I watched a few videos. The instant the power went off for load shedding ... boom! Internet off as well! And not because my router had no power - I had connected it to the power bank.

This is really bad. Stage 6 load shedding is really, really dangerous. I'm now reading about break ins, assaults, rapes, all happening, in my area, during load shedding! And load shedding is only going to get worse, since there is STILL not a single thing being done to put an end to it!

The local community is organising a meeting on the 29th. I really think I should make it a priority to attend! Overcome my 'don't leave home' thingy.

On a positive note, I was able to look into more opportunities to earn online, or remotely, as it is called now. As a result of the pandemic, so much work was done from home at the time, that the opportunities have really boomed! Of course, so have the people already earning their income this way - so competition is huge! But a lot of people are now making their income by sharing / advertising tips and tricks on how to earn remotely. As with everything online, it's going to take a lot of time to weed out the BS from the useful information.

First, though, I really must resolve my tax returns. I've just registered on their website ... only ... I have no clue how to get the forms to fill in. They use their own language, not language anyone outside understands. They explain how to do this and that, using terms that don't make sense to me. I think I'll leave it till next week ...

Nope. Decided to try the live chat option ... now have an agent assisting me. It's taken twenty minutes to catch her up to date ... Okay, we've hit a bit of a conundrum. Tax forms are now personalised, so I need to answer some questions, like: have I made any medical contribution? Which I don't know, right now ... so I'll have to first spend time going through any papers I may have, so that I can answer the questions, get the correct form and then fill it out. Sigh ...

I don't have any plans for meals for the weekend and the week ahead ... I really should come up with something. Anyway, it's quarter past two, almost time to go home. Load shedding tonight from six to eight. Don't even ask about the weekend ... it's not good. I should have updated my fridge chart, eh? Saturday from ten till two in the afternoon and Sunday from ten to noon. Both evenings from six to ten at night ... and it's going to get even worse ...

Well, I'm going to do what I wanna do. Don't need power on to go through my papers, but I will need it to go through my electronic documents. Sigh ...
